Made from high-tech Zirconium Oxide, Slice ceramic blades are known for their hardness and durability. Working in a grocery store I cut open boxes all day 5 days a week. Looking for a sturdy well built box cutter to be my everyday use is very hard to find and this one caught my eye with the small size to fit perfectly in my pocket and ceramic blade for longer lasting edge.Reviewed in the United States on 20 December 2018
Shipping was fast and came nicely packaged! The design was simple and fit nicely in my hand. I was looking forward to using it! Used it for about 2-3 days no problem.
That’s when I starting finding problems. The blade kept getting suck on tape and with the auto retracting blade I had to pop it open a few times to clean it out. Then after one small drop the blade fell out and was loose ever since.
This is a nice cutter but only for homeuse, opening amazon packages and that’s it. Not for the heavy use of countless boxes, tapes, and plastic wraps.

Our much anticipated Slice Mini Cutter arrived today and popped out of the blister pack with a nice audible snap, landing in my lap like an alien pod birth. Nicely designed with smooth oval lines, you can run your fingers around its edges like an oversized plastic fava bean. I tested it out. The blade snaps back safely, yet it cuts when needed.
I’ll carry the mini cutter around as an everyday resource. With today’s on-demand package economy, who wants to be running around looking for the tool you need when you can keep a small one with you on your key chain and have it ready when you need it?

Please see my attached photos for understanding(ish) how the thing is held together - I saw a comment stating something similar to "the thing just feel apart". They may have received an unfortunate unit QA-wise, or they may have done what I did once after receiving and using the Switch knife some, which was accidentally unlock the unit, which made it come apart during next use (while I was applying pressure, the unit fell apart).Reviewed in the United States on 20 October 2019
It was fixed very easily by reassembling it then locking it (so that it doesn't come apart easily, again) - See attached photos for this as well - The unit is locked via the sliding switch on the thicker end's sidewall which has a Padlock icon (for lock) and an unlocked Padlock icon (for unlocked) printed on the unit
