To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I followed the chart for buying the right one - my Nissan Murano is listed as the largest size. So I bought the largest one and yes, it fits across my SUV's front windshield, but because it is SO big, it is somewhat difficult to manipulate. I mean, I'm an average sized woman - 5' 4" and this screen is probably nearly as tall as me! Getting it folded up or unfolded with the driver's door closed is a PITA! I normally open the driver's door and pull it out to fold/unfold it and make sure I know where the elastic band is or it will pop back open (without the elastic band to hold it closed). It does work though - just not an easy window cover at times. I should say that the reason I bought this one in particular has to do with camping in my SUV. I have an SUV tent, a mattress for the back of my SUV and this cover is to cover the windshield so that I can sleep without people being able to look in and see me sleeping. I have covers for my side windows as well. For what I bought it for, it works perfectly. For keeping the sun out of my SUV, it also works wonderfully. It's just takes a bit to get it unfolded or folded.
I give it very high star ratings because it has lived up to its hype of keeping the car interior cooler in the extreme Arizona summer heat. Just a note, one of the star ratings mentions "Suction Power" but I am not sure what it refers to because there are no suction cups or similar. I gave it 3 stars simply because I did not want to rate it 1 and lower the star average rating. Onto the product itself: I purchased windshield sun shade for my Nissan Pathfinder and the fit is just right (I used the sizing guide recommendations). It is large enough to cover the front windshield without any gaps and does not interfere with the rear view mirror (simply bring the slack fabric over the mirror). I did not have any problems folding the sunshade like other reviewers mentioned but then I am usually the only one in the vehicle. I simply fold it over the passenger's seat. I can see that if you have a passenger it would be harder to fold with the steering wheel in the way. However, if you are looking for a really good sunshade I highly recommend this one. I don't look forward to getting in my car when its parked outdoors during the extreme summer months but I noticed the interior is noticeably cooler when I use the A1+ Windshield Sun Shade. If you live in a hot climate like I do, then this is the sunshade to buy.
This front windshield sun screen fits my 2021 Subaru Crosstrek well. It reaches from the top, where the windshield meets the head-liner, down to where the windshield meets the dashboard, leaving NO dashboard area exposed to sunlight. It is rigid enough that there is almost no gap between the sunscreen and the windshield. Perfect width, as well. As far as materials goes, it seems to be made of a silverized, somewhat rigid bubble wrap, with a stiff edge all around the perimeter to hold it in shape. The best storage technique is to roll it, very easy. You can force it into a rough accordion shape if you must, but I think you'd risk popping some bubbles and damaging the structural integrity. There are no suction cups. Perfect? No, but it covers the area well. Durability remains to be seen -- I received it only yesterday. I feel that the price may be a little steep, but if it is durable and holds up to daily use, it will be money well spent.
I have a ‘99 Durango and the medium size fits my windshield well.
At first I was afraid this wouldn’t work so well as the shade gets very hot, very quickly, but a few weeks of use later and I’ve noticed a significant improvement.
I like that each wire frame is able to be tucked into the corner and top of the windshield to hold position easier, the extra material ensures the entire windshield is covered. The only problem, is that three days after owning it, one of the side stitches came undone. It’s not a major functional issue, as it’s in the side making contact with the trim around my windshield, but it is concerning when considering longevity.
All in all, I’d say to buy one, for the summer, trust their guide, just be prepared for some quality issues. That’s the only reason I give it three stars.
I bought 3 of these shades - 1 for an older F-150, newer F-150 and my Edge. It really does a good job of covering the windshield, keeping the sun out. The only reason I have a lower rating on the "easy to fold" is I am a klutz with these types of shades - I just can't get the hang of it. But still a good product.
My wife has one of the larger Toyota Avalon's, because of the large size it was hard to find a shade to fit her window. Not only is the size perfect, the coverage is amazing. A lot of shades that we used in the past still let light through, this shade really blocks the light. I highly recommend it.
I am so impressed with this shade I am back today to purchase one for my Honda Pilot.
Had a hard time to fold it once it had been collapsed. I have a 2008 Hyundai Entourage Limited, and had a hard time trying to find the right size for my van. I found this listed on Amazon for a 2008 - 2019 Kia and since the vans are identical I thought I would take a chance. This covers the inside of my windshield completely and keeps it shaded. I'm very impressed with it.
I have the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer so the size for my vehicle isn’t listed on the chart. I looked at the size for the Blazer, then went up a size. It’s huge but I love it, I didn’t want to risk it not being large enough & I know it’ll fit my Blazer when I get one. Great buy.
I am happy with this shade on my Lexus RX300. The accordian style one that I purchased at an auto parts store did not fit even though I bought what was supposed to be the appropriate size. It was easy to install and stays in place. I am hopeful it will last in the hot Florida climate. I have not tried yet to fold it and probably won't be doing that to store in the pouch because my car is parked outside so will be used daily.
