I just installed these to clean up tobacco smoke odor from chain smoking neighbors in a 1 bedroom apartment that has shared ventilation ducts. One of the neighbors is violating the apartment no smoking rule and their smoke is getting into the air ducts during the warm months. Management won't do anything about it due to covid. I tried an air ionizer but it couldn't handle the large amount of smoke present in the warmer months. Had to ventilate four times per day which was driving up the electric usage. These charcoal bamboo pouches have a negative ionic charge and are said to absorb the smoke so I purchased this four pack and installed it over the source. It solved the problem while allowing air to move so there was only about a 60% reduction in air circulation which was necessary for it to function. If I keep the temperature at 78 deg F I can get about three days of cleaner air using these before they need a recharge and stop working. That means twice a week swap outs. That should get me through the summer and then hopefully I can get the apartment management to deal with the tenant.
