On a whim, I programmed right side Mouse4/5 to Crtl+C and Crtl+V for profile two. I ended up using this profile for Fortnite, which I have custom controls for. Mid game with a friend, I accidentally crouched and switched to build. I had pressed the right side Mouse4 button, which was bound to Crtl+C!
If there's any confusion, normally a 6 button mouse has the Mouse4/5 button on the left side.
As for the mouse itself, it consistently shows 1000mhz upon testing. The rubber feels so smooth and everything about it is quite sturdy, especially the mousewheel spin and click, which is important for me.
The one gripe I've had is with the right mouse button with I believe the high profile plate. The issue? It clicks too easily! This would be great for League of Legends or other similar Right-Click dependent games, however for me, I prefer a firm sturdy press. The solution is simply to not use it! However, I did find that for my grip, I preferred the high profile left side, which thankfully either doesn't have the issue, or I do not notice it.
If there's any confusion, I believe the high profile mouse backs have little slits or divots on the side of the mouse, whereas the low profile ones are flat all across.
The cable is quite long, which is super nice, and it could be 1 or 2 mm thicker just for anyone who uses a mouse bungee, it slips out occasionally from a generic one.
I seriously love this mouse. I was worried, as I was replacing a generic but special mouse which I used for about 5 years, so I was very used to it. However, it was a 250/500mhz mouse as well.
After just a little bit of tweaking in game and little bit of tweaking in the software, I can say that this is probably the lowest price ASUS ROG device that holds it's quality for the price. This is my second ROG device, the first being the ROG Phone, and I'm very happy with it. The lighting is perfectly minimal and not knowing very much about the differences in high quality mice, I was surprised to find no red glow from the lazer. I believe this is called optical, as it says in the title.
Remember: Lowest in game sensitivity possible, RAW input always when available, ensure that ROG Armory has Linear Curve set as straight, windows mouse sensitivity set 6/11. Game, software, windows.
Cons: I have large hands and the thumb buttons seem a bit too low (towards the palm) to reach comfortably. The cable does not detach like other ASUS mice; it would make it a lot easier to travel with.
Neutral: The mouse leans a bit towards the lighter side. As others have said, its labeled as an "evolve" mouse but doesn't have adjustable weights which seems like a bad choice. I find the grip pattern on the side a bit distracting.
I'll be honest I only initially bought this mouse for the Aura Sync to match my new laptop. After a week of use I'd say I'm satisfied with it for now, but may look for something nicer down the road. It overall features seem a bit lack-luster for the price point.
