I had an itching to see if i could increase the tx power of the card above 20. this problem, i discovered, was with the EEPROM demanding the regulatory zone to be 00. (For those who don't know, the max transmission power of certain devices is limited by the FCC in the USA, and
other regulatory agencies internationally). Of course, I had no malicious intent, I just wanted to see how far i could pick up the signal 30dBm.
Naturally supports monitor mode, master mode, excellent packet injection seeds.
5dbi for your reconnaissance. 9dBi is a type of antenna Im not too familiar with. For active attacks, the 7dbi ALFA panel works best out of the three presented options. I've yet to try a lolzparabolic 2.4Ghz grid of a rifle-inspired yagi antennas. Those sound like fun.
In short, you're find with the 5dbi but if you want to get a slightly better signal (which is sometimes important for packet injection) the 7dBi panel is the way to go. See my AWUS036H 1000mw review for comparison

ath9k is a solid choice and a manufacture advertising what actual chipset was used is worth supporting!
The blue LED is too bright, though.
Region set seems to be GB, as other reviews said. People travel with wifi devices across borders anyway
