Nice "goto" tool

Really like this tool and it has been my default tool for ages. I hang it just outside the door of my garage just off the kitchen. It is my favorite tool when I need the features of this tool. I purchased mine from a pit stop while traveling for about three dollars. I got one for each of the guys in the family. But as the years flew by and mine failed to hold its lock, I decided to get another. I waited two years because I didn't want to pay the cost of replacement. But I finally did. The new one, shamefully, is not much "better" than my old one - less nicked and tucked, but the new lock still fails to hold the pliers in closed position, just like its senior plier-brother. O well... not worth sending back and now I have two that will probably be put into my coffin beside my old body.

These are my Go To pliers.
What is going to fail?
Nothing serious that will hinder operation or performance.
The logo caps will pop off with average abuse and the locking feature will come apart and the tiny parts will get lost.
The machining of the jaw surfaces is spot on and the ergonomics of the handles provides for some serious gripping power.
Excellent tool and would make a nice gift.

A good tool, my primary grab and go plier for boat work

This is my primary grab and go plier for boat work where many of the on-deck and in-cabin tasks are either electrical or rigging related. I also own a switchgrip pro. The major difference is that the pro model square-tipped jaws are configured more like a traditional linemen's plier (with a wire cutter) whereas this model is better for gripping bolts or other objects. Considering the needle-nose side of this model has cutter and stripper, this is a more versatile tool overall.

Quality and precision of both models is "very good" but I wouldn't put this as excellent because precision of the mating surfaces leaves some room for improvement. If not for that I'd give it a 5-star rating.
