I tested the following:
2560x1440 @60hz - works
2560x1440 @100hz - failed
2560x1440 @144hz - failed
1920x1200 @59hz - works
Save yourself the time and money and pick up GearIT Gold Plated DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable 10 Feet - 4K Resolution Ready (DP to DP Cable) Black if you need a longer DisplayPort Cable. It worked for me without issues (2560x1440 @144hz and 150hz
After buying this & connecting it to my Dell S2716DG (1440P@144Hz) which I've had for over a year with the original OEM DP cable in use without issue, I suddenly had screen flickering, where it seemed like the screen would lose sync, & have to resync every few minutes. Sure enough a quick google search indicated this is usually from using a noncertified/low quality cable. Switched it back to my OEM cable that came with monitor. Instantly no issues.
I can only really go off the info available. Yes it possibly could have been a bad cable from Amazon, however Vesa/displayport.org doesn't list them as official & I have to side with them. I'm giving this 2 stars, because Amazon refunded me without having to send the cable back. I want to order a replacement Accell cable to try instead, which is on the list. I will come back & update this review once I have the new cable that is on the official certified list. Also the original OEM DP cable was 6'. I know 10'/3M is the max distance for DP specs & as such the 10' cable probably needs a lot tighter specs to not have issues, where as 1440P@144Hz at 6' is probably a little less demanding. So you may not have issues with this cable at 3'-6', but I wouldn't recommend this cable for 1440P-4K resolutions at 10'.
As other reviews have mentioned, this cable is also FAR thicker than any other DP cable I've ever seen to the point that it was difficult to work with, and also lacks the clips that hook into the port.
Overall, very poor. Returned for a refund and waiting for a different cable to arrive. All the other Amazon Basics products I've used have been just fine -- no idea what happened with this one. Absolutely avoid unless you're intending to stay below 60hz.
The cable is also extremely thick and bulky. While not a deal breaker in-and-of itself, it is difficult to route inside cable management channels or monitor arms.
