This cable seems durable and high quality. It connects very securely on both ends of the cable.

However, I use this to connect my Xbox one controller to my PC and it often loses connection which is suuuuper annoying for gaming. The cord itself is tightly secured in the controller and PC but it just loses connection for some reason. That goes for all USB ports.

I haven’t tried this for my phone or any other product but i assume it will keep connection as long as you don’t move it much. If you’re a gamer, look somewhere else

After a few months, it would no longer make a reliable connection to my phone or pad. If you wiggle it or position it just right it works, but if it moves it may not. I mostly use another cable for may phone -- the cheap plastic corded type. That one has been used almost exclusively to charge my phone, so every two days on the average. That cheap one is still good, after 3+ years.

I had a similar Amazon Basics cable that I used for years, but I do believe that the plug wore down after a while and I had issues with it when charging a Kindle, i.e. I would have to angle everything just right. The pug on this cable fits very tight and seems to work very well. Of course, while I'm here, I should mention to Amazon that they should really ditch the micro-USB connector on the various Kindle and Fire devices, it is problematic in the long run and is, of course, polarized in its orientation. The USB-C would be a far better solution.

Fragile Micro B Connector

I like the cable part of this cable - but 2 have broken at the Micro B connector. The "bottom" of this connector has two little teeth that secure the male connector to the female slot. Twice my phone has fallen off the bed, maybe 2 feet, and landed on carpet. Both times the "teeth" broke off so the cable now makes a very unsecure connection.
I'll be looking for a more robust cable.

I bought 4 of these, and so far so good. I've got a few other braided nylon USB cords that are thinner and more flexible; my concern with these is that they're pretty rigid (longer lengths might have more flex, but I doubt it), and it might mean for a shorter lifespan. If/when they stop working I'll adjust the rating accordingly, but they were a pretty solid deal compared to others.

Update- so yes, they don't last that long. One already died...I'll drop the rating further if the others do.
