AmazonBasics AmazonBasics Subwoofer Cable - 35 Feet Brand : AmazonBasics
AmazonBasics Subwoofer Cable - 35 Feet
Expertly connect a subwoofer speaker to a stereo receiver, sound system, or other audio component with the AmazonBasics Subwoofer Cable. The cable carries a consistently strong, clear signal for the full length of the cable without signal loss, and it expertly transmits low-frequency signals generated by subwoofers, ensuring deep, precise sound quality and exceptional bass response.
The AmazonBasics cable comes ready to use. Simply insert each end into its respective port on a compatible device, and it’s good to go. The cable works with devices that have an RCA port, and it accommodates S/Pdif (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format), digital, and composite video interfaces.
- Coaxial cable connects subwoofer speaker to audio device
- Copper-clad steel center conductor, dielectric insulation, aluminum shielding, and braided-copper shielding
- Low energy loss and protection from RF/EM interference
Made from high-quality materials, the subwoofer cable features a copper conductor, dielectric insulation and aluminum shielding. The result: pure, natural sound without the hum or static that can happen when multiple devices are placed near each other.
Gold-Plated RCA Connectors and Split Tip
The cable’s gold-plated RCA connectors resist corrosion and won’t stretch out or loosen over time, ensuring a consistently tight fit. Even more, its split-tip center pin creates effective high-contact pressure between the cable and the device for optimal conductivity and signal strength.

The connection on both ends is nice and firm. It does carry the signal well from my receiver to my powered sub.
When there is plenty of bass notes passing through the cable, it works just fine.
The cable picks up lots of interference. It's not so bad that it picks up radio stations. I've had worse cables that have done that really well but there is a lot of static during quiet scenes in movies and especially when there is no bass as I'm just browsing through Netflix or Hulu finding something to watch. It gets so bad I have to turn the sub manually off at times. If I hold the cable up in the air and away as far as possible from the other connections in the back of the receiver, the static noise is gone. This cable just seems like a great way to damage a nice sub...
Do yourself a favor and buy a different cable.
The big blue box store charges $20 for a garbage 15' cable. Not kidding - they have one that's over $200. (I promise, as an electrical engineer, you won't hear a difference for all the cable claims to do)
This is a no-nonsense solution that's shielded enough to reject normal EMI, and built well enough that it will last for a long time. The gold plated contacts are a nice touch at this price. If your sub is right next to your amp just use the junk cables that came with that VCR you bought in 1996, you won't hear a difference. For a run over 30', you do want something with low impedance and high shielding - and this gets the job done great without breaking the bank.
"Copper Clad Steel (CCS) is a composite conductor material containing a low carbon steel core surrounded by copper. The copper provides the electrical conductivity and the steel contributes strength to the conductor. The most common grade of CCS used for electrical conductors has a nominal 40% IACS electrical conductivity. CCS is suitable for applications where high strength and medium conductivity are required. Copper Clad Steel is also suited for high frequency signal applications since high frequency currents travel mainly in the outer skin of a conductor." -fiskalloy
