This device shuts off every 30 minutes or so. I need to then turn it back on, unlock my phone, and restart the video in the app. I’m not sure if mine is defective, if there’s a setting for automatic shut down, or if this product overheats too quickly? If it stayed on for over 30 minutes, I would likely give this 4 stars because I like the wireless streaming.
I originally got this for meeting at work since I hated hooking up the big projector. This little guy barely showed up on the screen even when all the windows were blocked. I also could not get a nice square once I had it going as the keystone was off. If you plan to keep this thing only 2 feet away from the wall and have the room pitch black, then yes, maybe this project could be worth it, but I would advise getting a newer model. There is a cool app that allows you to use your phone in lieu of the remote, but it took me a while to really get the hang of it as connecting was not as easy as I thought through bluetooth. Battery life at 4 hours is a complete lie as I got maybe 2 hours, which is fine since I don't actually need it to last that long anyway, but if you're camping and want to get several movies in on one charge, be warned. The packaging of this thing was very impressive. The unboxing was surprisingly very satisfying. I had purchased a hard case for transport and almost felt keeping it in the original box would have been equally acceptable. The 360 speaker on this thing is really nice. Linking the speaker up to phone and laptop was a lot easier than the projector side of things. In conclusion, if you want a good bluetooth speaker that has some okay projector qualities, this is a good option. If you want to lean on the projector side more, get yourself something with more brightness and functions.
I bought this to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime without needing to use wifi. My Cabin doesn't have internet but I can get a cell signal. I used the HDMI port to connect my screenbeam and now I can stream anything from my phone to the projector. You do need separate power for the Screenbeam. Screenbeam does not work with iPhone. I have an android phone that connects to the screenbeam without any issues. I bought a 120 inch screen and set it up my the camp fire and watch movies. picture is great in the dark. Speaker is loud enough but could be louder. https://www.amazon.com/Actiontec-ScreenBeam-Wireless-Receiver-SBWD60A01/dp/B00O14JG2Y/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2M4KXNT5JL2OQ&dchild=1&keywords=screen+been+mini+2&qid=1611690769&sprefix=screen+be%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-1
Its compact but cheaper can be better. I've got a 1st gen vankiyo projector. When combined with a roku stick and a Bluetooth speaker its great. Total cost of that annoying setup is aroujd 130 bucks. The nebula is way more expensive with a much worse interface that seems to never buffer enough to get full picture quality and the battery life is dismal. I'd accept a device 3 times as big with roku interface or similar with a better battery and lamp because this just isn't worth the size convenience unless you are #vanlife or #tinyhouse all the way. Get a top rated 120-150 dollar mini projector and deal with a couple cords. You'll be much happier.
This projector was exactly what I wanted. It sits on my nightstand and is cast to the wall in front of my bed. I love the apps it comes with, but I also have my Xbox plugged into it to access even more, like Disney plus. Picture looks great when the room is dark. Speaker has great volume. I love how small and portable it is.
The only con I have found so far is with the Netflix app itself. It times out every 30 mins and the projector turns off. It’s an easy fix as I just press the power button on the phone app and it comes right back on in my spot but still a little annoying and thought it was the device itself at first.
The phone app is AWESOME and I can control everything from volume to typing etc.
I’ve owned a few pocket/pico projectors over the years. This one blows them all out of the water. The other options required too many plugs, too many adjustments, and usually external sound systems. It always made outdoor movie night a bit of a chore.
This device though? The auto keystone means the picture is always straight. The brightness it more than fine in the dark. The picture is good, not great, but you really can’t expect theater quality in such a small cheap device. The sound is clear and gets loud enough. The android based OS means you don’t need other devices attached to stream/download content.
I just pop up the screen. Put the projector on the tripod and start watching!
I bought this for when we go hiking so that we could have night time entertainment. its great on a WHITE background and NOTHING else. i thought that projector paint would be the best option but all it gave was an unwatchable reflection. if you pack in a white sheet that you can pull tight will almost no creases, this projector is incredible. its bright, we watched at about 40" with great clarity. we were able to watch 3 movies before we got the "20 mins left on battery life" warning. great battery life for something the size of a coke can. and the speaker power was great. we played the movie for 5 of us at 50% because it was that loud.
Got this because of the portability of it. Night time, back yard entertainment and camping. Did a lot of research on the product before purchase and so far it meets all my expectations. Good picture dependent on ambient lighting, decent sound and great connectivity options. Can run and charge at same time. Focus dial seems very sensitive. Great product!
