Capricorn PTFE is well regarded as the highest quality PTFE tubing in all of 3D printing. The tight tolerances make sure that the filament is lead directly to the hotend with as little room for error as possible between the extruder and the hotend.
Capricorn PTFE XS Series is rated for withstanding the highest temperatures in the market which is perfect for printing exotic filaments such as ABS, Nylon, and Polycarbonate. Standard PTFE tubing may experience dangerous “off-gassing” if the hotend is heated to temperatures beyond 240*C and will get worse with higher heats. This Capricorn XS series is safe in 3D printer usage up to 300*C thanks to its proprietary manufacturing methods.
Upgraded Pneumatic Fittings with metal teeth provided in this package work much better than the stock options provided by many cheap 3D printer manufacturers with plastic teeth or cheap locking mechanisms. The extruder fittings are PC4-M6 and the hotend fittings are PC4-M10. 2 collet clips are also provided which drastically increases any hotends precision by eliminating any potential slippage of the Bowden tubing whilst extruding or retracting.
One PTFE cutter with an extra sharp razor is also included to ensure that the PTFE is cut flat on both sides to prevent any malfunctions or heat creep when feeding and retracting.

If only I knew to buy this when I bought my 3D printer, you wouldn’t think it makes a difference since the filament just passes through it. Well I promise you it does, I immediately ran into less issues and better prints after installing this. I wish I had bought it when I bought the printer.

Good Ender 3 upgrade to fittings.

I was having problems with my stock Ender 3 tube moving during retraction. This solved that issue with the significantly larger connector on the stepper motor side. I have a picture of the connectors next to the stock fittings and these clamp the tube a lot better and allow for the tube to be taken in and out easily. The connection on the hot end side is very similar To stock but that is ok because it works well. In combination with the tube cutter, this is a good cheap upgrade to your Ender 3.

This is my first time using capricorn tubing and I can immediately tell the difference in quality compared to what my Tevo Tornado came with. Cutter and couplings work perfectly too. The results have been nothing less than amazing and I will definitely be buying Capricorn again, I have been converted. The package arrived arrived quickly too.

Better printing with unusual filaments.

The Capricorn tubing is supposed to print flexible filaments better because of the higher tolerance of the inside diameter of the tubing. I cant speak to that because I haven't ever tried a flexible filament. However, this tubing has a higher temperature rating than the white stuff that comes with most printers and I have noticed that it does not burn or deteriorate at higher temps (250c) which the white stuff does. Also the couplers are of a better quality than the ones that came with my printer. It was impossible to remove the bowden tube from the stock coupling at the extruder end. I remove the coupling from the extruder and push tubing through to remove. I then discovered that the tubing was partially cut through by the stock coupling and when I bent the tubing it snapped at the damage. The new coupling are of a much higher quality. They actually release the tubing when you press on them but they don't come loose in use as the stock ones did. Well worth the price. The tubing cutter is a nice plus. It makes it easy to create a perfectly square end on the cut tubing which is essential to having a leak free bowden tube extruder. If the end is not square, melted filament can ooze out between the tip and the tubing and cause a clog in the hotend and cause a failed print or worse. Well worth the money. An easy upgrade to perrform. Removes a possible cause for failure and hassel. Thus it makes you printing easier and more fun.

Did not work as well as expected....

I'm comparing my experience with this particular "Capricorn PTFE" bowden tube to the factory tube that came with my ender 3 pro....

First, there is at least double the length I needed in the package which isn't a bad thing. And I had no issues with the cutter, it appeared to cut clean and flat. Additionally I had no issues with the fittings, and I'm still currently using them.

I'm relatively new to FDM printing, so the problem may have had other causes but I didn't see it until I used this tubing a few times.... The PETG filament I was printing with melted within the tube to nearly all the way up to the end of the hot end fitting. Then after it cooled an un-meltable plug formed inside of it.

So far I've had more hours printing with the stock tubing than this one. And it has never become clogged. Since there's enough extra Capricorn tubing I may try it again. If I find some other cause for the clogging I'll update this review.
