Perfume Way too Strong ...

Given this is a product from Aveeno, I was taken by surprise by the heavy scent. It is so strong that I am unable to use it. It smells like old drug store perfume! It bothers my sinuses and makes my eyes burn, water and turn red; and I'm not getting any product anywhere near my eyes! I use Aveeno lotions and other products which have very little or no scent. I assumed that is what I would get with this product. Nope.

The front label says contains no sulfates, yet the third ingredient is sulfonate!!!! The perfume is overwhelming and gave me an instant sinus headache. Come on Aveeno, your customers expect better products than this from you!!! I will be returning this product and resume my search for a sulfate and sulfonate free shampoo. Those ingredients are cheap and extremely irritating. I get contact dermatitis from them. I can get dish detergent without those ingredients, why not a shampoo!!!!! Nasty!

I used the previous line, Aveeno Active Naturals "Nourish + Moisturize", for about five years and it worked well, I guess. I have winter eczema. I use Aveeno oat-based bath soap and the previous product seemed to help end scalp itching. I was surprised to see the product line end. So I looked around for replacement and Aveeno Scalp Soothing Oat Milk Blend Shampoo for Daily Moisture and Light Nourishment (maybe they could shorten the name to an acronym = ASSOMBSFDM&LN?) turned up so I am using it. It isn't the same shampoo, but I have not noticed any of the ill effects mentioned in reviews here. The strong scent (coconut, I'd say) goes away as my hair dries and is rather pleasant. ASSOMBSFDM&LN doesn't "moisturize" any better than its predecessor, but what does "moisturize" really mean, anyway? I have dry hair, before and after I shampoo it. Works for me and, BTW, the price went down.

I get itchy scalp when I use most shampoos--I think the culprit may be sulfates, but I have never been able to pinpoint it. This shampoo does not irritate my scalp and has a nice, pleasant vanilla smell to it. I don't find it to be strong and it certainly doesn't linger. My hair feels clean, soft, and shiny after using. I am purchasing the conditioner to try with it next.

I'm mixed on this item. The first I received I absolutely LOOOOVED. It was everything I've been searching for for like 5 years now and then some. It made my hair nice and silky smooth, shiny, no static, less tangles. Well hydrated while still being light and not at all greasy. All but one of the other milks or leave-ins I've used seem to leave me cruncky or greasy or don't do a damn thing, but the one that used to work was discontinued I guess. This product left my hair feeling and looking amazing and smelled delicious. Then I got a couple that the color was ever so slightly off, and they smelled like chemically.... The texture was wrong it was really runny, I don't know what was up with it. I like to have things on hand and not be out when my bottle ends. So, I thought well I'll just exchange them, must just be a fluke right? So I received my replacements, put them away when I opened the box because I was in a hurry and figured surely they'd be fine. So when my good bottle ran out a few days ago I grabbed one of the replacements and UUUGGGHHHH!!!! What the hell!?!?!???? Neither bottles contents seemed right. So frustratingly I've returned them. One was like the first wonky ones in texture and scent, the other was extremely thick and looked like white and felt a little heavier. I'm sooo crushed by this! I can't find this particular product anywhere else I've looked online or in store.... Maybe I'll try again after some time goes by... There's something not right going on and I'm not sure where it is. I don't want to think this was a fake product, because the first bottle smelled like the matching Aveeno shampoo and conditioner and the fonts/colors and such matched. I loved it so much. I've literally been searching for years for a product that works like that on my hair.... I'm not sure that it's a QA/QC quality control thing because the smells were so far off from what I was expecting.....none of these have had any sort of seal on them, so I'm sort of wondering if these are stocked from a seller that refilled bottles or if Id been receiving someone else's tampered with returns??? I give this 3 stars because the first bottle I received I would totally give 20/5 stars. The rest though I would put -5/5 stars... I don't understand how something like this could even happen this many times in a row. I really hope this review is read by someone that can get to the bottom of this. I want to be able to purchase more like the first bottle I received! Maybe I will have to go out of my way to check at a Sally Hansen's or try to contact Aveeno or something. This is so infuriating!
