I would not say this is moisturizing a la the scientific rhetoric associated with colloidal oatmeal. I still have to use a moisturizer after using it. That being said this is a lifesaver when my skin is inflamed and stinging.
I always travel with a packet of this in my suitcase. It's good to have for eczema flares, sunburn, allergic skin reactions, and the like.
Also consider a diet change as well...no dairy, meats, or sugars. Keep a journal and write down what your child eats and drinks, and record any flare ups that are brought on by diet, temperature fluctuations or environmental factors (mixed fabrics, detergents, soaps or lotions being one of many)
