Stick to the SPF 15

I have used Aveeno's Ultra Calming Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15 for years, and I love it. However, I have very fair skin, so I would prefer 30 SPF. I tried the 30 SPF once a couple years ago before they switched it to mineral sunscreens, but the smell was much too strong, so I switched back. I was excited to see when they changed the SPF 30 to mineral sunscreens, since it wouldn't have the strong sunscreen smell. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this product. The consistency was completely different from the SPF 15. It was thick and greasy and just impossible to rub in. I immediately went and washed my face again because I couldn't stand having it on my skin. And I would never have been able to put my makeup over it. I have other mineral sunscreen products that I like a lot, but this one is just terrible. I will stick with the SPF 15 which has served me well for a long time.

This product has a floral scent. It is labeled "fragrance-free" but it certainly has a strong smell, which took 10 vigorous washes to get off of my skin. It does list "chrysanthemum juice" as an ingredient, and I think this is the scent. If you need an unscented product, look elsewhere. This is strange to me since Aveeno is usually a go-to for their regular fragrance-free regular lotion, which actually IS fragrance-free.

not toxic like nonmineral sunscreens

I bought this because I did my research on EWG for reasonably priced sunscreens with zinc and titanium only. The other chemicals in most sunscreens are toxic because they sink into the skin and accumulate in organs causing longterm risks. I am fair and have skin cancer problems in my family, so I go through a lot of product. Zinc and Titanium are only a block that don't absorb, which is why they are a little white on the skin. This product is much less expensive (with the same ingredients) as EltaMD which is recommended by my dermatologist for similar reasons. I use The EltaMD when I know I'm going to be outside for the day, and I use the Aveeno for daily use all year round. It's a great alternative, spreads easily, and also moisturizes. I like the smell as it is fairly benign.

I couldn't get this one to work. It turned my face white, no matter how little I used or how well I rubbed it in. I'm giving it two stars because I didn't notice any strong or offensive fragrance. (shrug) I'll probably keep it and use it on my hands or something.

Tiny & over-priced, scented, oily. Not the stuff I've been buying for years!

*LOOK CLOSELY!!!* If you're a regular user of this moisturizer, you might be deceived as I was. This bottle is TINY for the price of a regular sized bottle!! When I buy this in the store, it's usually 4x the size (though they've reduced the size of those recently too, see photo for comparison).

In addition, the change to mineral sunscreen has changed both the scent and the feel of my favorite moisturizer that I've been loyally using for so many years! It's oilier now and no longer truly scent free.

I'm super disappointed and feel taken advantage of as well for paying such a high price for such a tiny bottle. Ultimately, it's my fault for not noticing the listed 2.3 oz size, but still... I feel like they could have been more honest with their ad.

If it was worth the trouble of returning it, I would!! Look elsewhere if you're looking for your favorite moisturizer... this isn't it!
