My doggo decided that an area behind my sofa was her private bathroom. I tried to remove the smell with other soaps, but alas, they failed. I still smelled the peepee. This little bottle did the trick. She is now blocked from entering her private throne and must pee outside like the commoners.

I have NO idea how this product has so many great ratings. I am a mother of two young children and two huge dogs who destroy everything in sight. My carpets take merely moments to become disgusting again once my kids and dogs have been on them. I was expecting this product to get out stains with in one or two passes...... not 5 or 6. I am no stranger to cleaning carpets and the ones in our home are cleaned monthly if not more. Not only did I use half the bottle on an average sized room but I to exert way more effort than usual. To be completely honest using tide in my machine works better than this stuff. I'm pretty disappointed that this "top notch animal carpet cleaning magic liquid'' did such a crap job. I mean it got out MOST of the stains but it took me nearly an hour. I could've got my entire downstairs done in that time!

I had high hopes for this stuff after reading all the positive reviews, but it didn’t even come close to removing the orders.

We have a rescue pup that suddenly decided going to the bathroom outside wasn’t her jam. So she began using our sons room to relive herself. I got the carpet cleaner for Christmas and was so excited to try it out! (Our son hasn’t even been able to sleep in his room due to the urine smell).

Well, not only did it NOT get the smell out, it actually made it worse! Our entire upstairs smells of dog urine now. 😭 I used the cleaner twice, hoping that would do the trick, but it didn’t.

I will say, it worked fine on the rest of the carpet in the house. Our daughter spilled milk on our carpet and never told anyone...so we had a nasty sour smell in our living room and this worked beautifully to remove it. But it does nothing for the pet urine odor that it claims to remove.

Save your money. I’m now on the hunt for another product before we throw our hands up in defeat and just replace the carpet.

Bissell 1990 Pro Pet Urine Eliminator Upright Deep Cleaner Formula Well, it definitely improved our carpet - it looks better than when we hand scrub spots with Resolve or some other Pet Stain remover. That said, there are still some stains that seem to be permanent (from before we moved in) that stand out even more now that the carpet around them is super clean. Also, the rooms smelled very clean for about 48 hours (maybe), but then I could smell hints of that puppy urine again (and he hadn't had any new accidents since using this product). So, things are "better" after using this product, but it's not a miracle worker.

new formula smells bad, almost like urine

At some point, they must have changed the formula and now it smells horrible. I used it in my upright carpet cleaner. For two weeks, I kept getting paranoid that there was a smell of pee in the living room. I was almost ready to rip out the carpet. I ended up buying a black light flashlight to check if there were any old pee spots that I didn't catch. The carpet was mostly clean, except for a reoccuring dog vomit spot. That is when I realized that the smell was the cleaner and not dog pee. After rewashing the carpet with a different cleaner, the smell of the old cleaner is very faint. After a few more washes, I hope it will be compeltely gone.

It may be okay to dilute, and use it in a spray bottle for pre-treating spots, but I would not recommend using this in the carpet cleaner at all.
