What is a True Pressure Fit Safety Gate?
A True Pressure Fit Gate is not screwed on to the door frame or wall, but fitted in place under pressure. That means you avoid marks and holes in the wall or frame. This type of gate is well suited for use at the foot or top of a staircase and at doorways of utility room, kitchen, bathroom or other rooms where you prefer to keep your child supervised.
BabyDan develops, produces and sells safety equipment for children in the age group 0-5 years. In addition, BabyDan markets and distributes a large number of textile and furniture products for children in the same age group.

They are easy to put together, easy to install and thanks to a new design on the release catch even easier to open than before. They expand and contract in width thanks to an easy to use expansion system and can fit anything from door ways to stairs easily.
I cannot recommend these enough as they are simply the best on the market and the easiest to assemble and use.
It is very easy to fit - the instructions have few words, which is good as the pictures are so easy to follow. There are red pressure indicators on the gate and when you have tightened the gate enough these are pushed in so you cannot see them. This results in a gate that is securely held, but hasn't damaged the walls.
The sizing is very flexible due to cheap extender packs. Measure your gap before you buy, then buy what you need. I use one gate with one bar from this extender (here: BabyDan Extend-a-Gate 13 cm Extension Kit (White) ) and another with two bars. Both are sturdy and my daughter regularly shakes the rails, telling us she wants to get through.
The pictures show it installed. I would reverse it, if I were doing it again, so that the button is away from the side your child is on. Also, note the bar at the bottom - you won't find a gate without it that doesn't need the walls drilling. I don't think it is a trip hazard as you are always aware you are going through the gate, but as you can see, it is not a problem here as it is around the corner from the top of the stairs. My other one is at the bottom of some other stairs.
The other thing we considered was whether a self closing gate was better - we decided against this. I haven't found it to be a problem at all, this way it is more convenient that you can leave it open or closed. Opening is easy with one hand - push the button, lift the handle, lift the whole gate and swing.
I really don't think I could have made a better buy.
As a dog gate, I have no complaints.
It’s also very easy to use. I’ve actually bought it as a dog, rather than child, gate. So we tend to leave the handle up, because there’s a handy little clasp on the bottom that ensures the gate can’t open. It does mean the gate needs to be lifted to open it. Though this works for us, I can see if you’ve got a strong/large dog or a toddler you’d probably need to put the handle down.
Overall I would highly recommend the gate, good value too
