I’m testing out several clean brands of diapers right now.. Was using the Honest diapers NB size.. As soon as I got these Bambo Dream (size 1) ones and after one use the redness on my newborn sons skin was gone! Honest isn’t high standard clean for those who know the chemical world, but they’re still better than most brands. However don’t think the red skin is just a mark from sitting in a diaper.. I’ve switched it up several times back and forth sporadically for a week now and even after 30 min with Honest NB diaper my son was all red. Every time I take off the Bambo diapers, no redness! The Bambo does run slightly bigger than Honest but I like how stretchy and comfy they feel, easy to adjust to your baby’s size if they are too big. It’s a nice in between size and still works for my 8-9lb lean boy. They’ll definitely fit as he grows a couple pounds too. Didn’t have any blow outs or leaks. I also like that they’re mostly plain white diapers so they don’t clash with my baby’s outfits when I just have him in a onesie.
Where do I start? First of all, the package says for newborns 4-9 lbs, but these are bigger than the other newborn diapers we have which are for newborns up to 10 lbs. The wetness indicator is harder to see when wet compared to other brands.
The other qualities of these diapers don't really matter, though, because these diapers aren't absorbent enough, and most of the pees turn into overflows and pee gets all over our girl's outfit and whatever she's sitting on. We're definitely not buying any more of these. We probably won't even use all the one package we have because it's risky business putting these on a well-fad baby.
The other brands I have for comparison are Huggies, Pampers, and Honest brand, which are all great, by the way.
These have been good so far - they're soft and seem absorbent enough. Just a note on the sizing, though, my baby was actually 4.5 lb at birth and these diapers would have basically covered her whole chest. They're just wildly not the right size for a 4lb baby. We used Pampers swaddlers preemie size and then newborn size instead. Now that baby is around 7lb and the swaddlers newborn size is starting to get tight, we're finally ready to switch to the Bambo diapers (and they're still a little on the large side). If they want to claim that their diapers fit very small newborns, they need to produce a smaller size than this instead of making up weight limits.
Bought these to try eco friendly diapers. Tried this along with dyper and Amazon’s mama bear brand, as well as naty. Dyper and this brand are the worst. My baby got a bad diaper rash and the tabs that secure the diaper kept coming loose. On top of that the diaper is thin and feels like scratchy paper. Stay away
These size 1 diapers are gigantic. It angers me that they market these for 4-9lb babies - as they are gaping and falling off of my 7lb newborn, even with the fasteners pulled as tight as I can get them. I can only imagine the leaking this will cause. Frustrated I wasted money on multiple packages of these but will now have to buy more until she eventually grows into these
Really great diaper for my little guy except for as he got older and slept longer through the night >9-10hrs, the diaper would get pretty full and about 50% of the times soaks into the front of his pants and shirt.
