Product description

Colour Name:Red

This bottle sealing wax can serve as an essential tool in the workshop of an artisan or manufacturer, as it has for hundreds of years. Specifically designed for sealing all kinds of containers, these products can be used in a wide range of applications — in addition to the most popular purposes like sealing wine and other alcohol, this pastille wax is useful for perfumes, syrups, jars of honey and oils. These waxes — fully refined and produced in the United States — form a sturdy wax seal on those containers, as they keep excessive moisture and air from seeping into the spaces between the bottle mouth and the topper, whether it be a cork or something else. This feature is critical, as the latter two materials (air and moisture) can spoil your products or dilute their key qualities, like taste, smell and consistency. By placing a seal on your bottles, you make sure people can store them in cool, damp places for extended periods to preserve their freshness for years to come. Corks especially can be vulnerable to outside influences, and damaged corks can cause contents to leak out and allow outside influences in, like the odors of their storage space. A good sealing wax prevents those spills and secures freshness. Multiple colors and finishes for the waxes give you the opportunity to get creative with the bottle’s presentation. The ability to customize will give you a unique look that you can even emboss with a logo or monogram to complete the aesthetic. These colored waxes comply with FDA regulations 21 CFR 172.886, and the metallic & pearl finishes meet regulations 21 CFR 178.3710. You can accomplish a great deal of work at an affordable rate with this bottling wax, as a 1-pound of pastilles can coat between 25 and 30 bottles, depending on the coating thickness and container size. With a dipping temperature of 275 degrees, you can quickly prepare the wax, dip the bottle, let it dry & have it ready for an easy removal.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy and nice selection of blended waxes
Reviewed in the United States on 14 February 2021
These blended waxes work well with bottle dipping if the right temperature is adjusted properly for each color and dipping method. Unfortunately, temperature and dipping time is different for each color. I think it's due to the composition of each wax color. User must test and play around each color to find his or her right balance between color and richness including cooling time.

Here are my results:
1) Black Gloss - Slightly glossy and true black color
2) Gloss Bright Red - Slightly glossy and true red color
3) Lime Green - Has slight metal iridescent particles (nice touch) and sometimes very slight translucent if temperature/cooling time is not right
4) Purple - Has a slight muted dull purple color (no shine)
5) Gold - Nice vintage color with slight sheen (reminds me of old gold if that makes sense)
6) Copper - My favorite (nice color and slight sheen). Similar to rose gold
7) Goldenrod - More like a yellowish orange with gold hue (slight sheen)
8) Silver - Very nice true silver (most sheen due to metallic particles)

I love the bead format since you can control on how much you want to melt with each color batch (very handy) and reasonably priced.

This is a must buy for bottle dipping.

The only issue I have is that some colors are hard to choose based on pictures. I wish all colors came with bright gloss, and more variety of colors but keep it simple (black, red, blue, pink, green, darker yellow, orange, brown, gold, silver, etc).

In any case, these beaded format blended waxes are a must buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff!
Reviewed in the United States on 12 January 2021
I'd never done a bottle wax project before, but I had too damn much good beer on hand and I didn't want to it going bad while it aged (or - more accurately, "sat around for a while unil I could get to drinking it"). so - decided to top them in gold.

The wax is terrific. I know they recommend metal beakers and hi-end thermometers and stuff like that, but seriously: I poured about 8 ouncesof wax into a empty green bean can, which then went into a pot of boiling water on the stove, making an improv'd double-boiler. Melted everything to about 240 degrees F (accoring to the meat thermometer I have )and dunked the bottles. I'm quite happy with how they came out (and for reference - those 10 caps in the pic used about 3 ounces of wax; my "melting vessel" still has a good quantity left in it that's definitely reusable).

Incredibly fun, very satisfying and I'm thrilled with the results. Can't it to do it again...now I just need more beer ;-)
