The Brazil French Press coffeemaker, designed in the early 80's, was our first coffeemaker and quickly became a symbol of what Bodum stands for. Attractive and functional design at an affordable price. The Brazil has a durable, heat-resistant borosilicate glass beaker and a plastic handle and base, which make the Brazil easy to use and easy to clean. The 3-part stainless steel plunger has a fine mesh filter, which allows for a premium extraction of your coffee's aromatic oils and subtle flavors. A mesh filter allows this flavor to be delivered direct to your cup and not absorbed by a paper filter. Plus, no paper filter means no waste. The patented safety lid prevents the splashing of liquids while pressing. All parts are dishwasher-safe.

Bodum Brazil French Press Coffee Maker
Designed in the early 80's. Attractive and functional design at an affordable price.
The French press coffee maker is the simplest of all brewing systems, where coarsely ground beans meet hot water right off the boil. The right temperature (92–96 °C, 195–205 °F) brings the optimal extraction power for the essential oils in the beans to develop their full flavor profile in just four minutes. An easy press on the plunger locks the grinds at the bottom of the glass carafe and stops the brewing process.
- Body, handle, & lid made of BPA free plastic
- Beaker is made of heat resistant borosilicate glass
- Filter & plunger is made of stainless steel
- Brews & makes delicious coffee
- No Paper Filters. No Capsules. No Waste.
How to brew French press coffee:
For each 4-ounce cup, put 1 rounded tablespoon or 1 Bodum scoop of coarse-ground coffee into the pot.
Pour hot (not boiling) water into the pot. Leave a minimum of 1 inch of space at the top. Stir with a plastic spoon.
Place the plunger unit on top of the pot. Do not press down. Let the coffee brew for 4 minutes.
After 4 minutes press down the plunger and enjoy.
Bodum quality in every component.
Borosilicate Glass beaker
The beaker is made of High-Quality Borosilicate glass is ultra-light and strong, has great heat- resistant properties, and will not get cloudy in the dishwasher.
Stainless Steel Spiral plate
The Stainless Steel spiral plate keeps the filter mesh in place and makes sure that water goes through but no ground coffee. The flexible spiral provides a universal fit taking into account the manufacturing tolerances of glass jugs.
Stainless Steel Mesh
The Stainless Steel filter mesh is a key component to the Bodum coffee makers. It separates the ground coffee beans from the water after the brewing has stopped.
Stainless Steel Cross plate
The Stainless Steel cross plate holds the mesh in place together with the spiral plate.

This French press works perfectly for me. I'm a coffee snob and just can't drink the coffee provided at work. I use my press at work, and I'm toying with the idea of buying another to use at home. Coffee made in the press is so delicious.
I wanted a small press because I only want to drink one cup. Even if I wanted two cups, I would want to make a fresh second cup. It specifies in the product description that it makes a 12oz cup, and that is accurate. This press is insanely cute and takes up very little space when stores in my desk drawer.
The glass is plenty thick and the handle stays on secured. The strainer prevents any grounds from pouring into my cup.
Wouldn't change a thing, love this press.
My previous press worked great for me the whole time I had it. It never showed any signs of wear. I should mention that I always hand washed it. It was the perfect size for me, since I only ever drink one mug at a time. People shouldn't complain about the size when it says how many oz it holds in the description. If you can't read then that's on you, not the product. Anyway, it fills a regular mug with some room for cream.
This is a perfectly good French Press if you only want one mug.
Works for me.
One other note about grinding. For those of you who use the little Hamilton Beach electronic grinder (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FBYRMQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1), I filled it with beans up to the 4-cup mark, and ground it on the percolator setting at 4-cups. I then used the the scoop that is included with this French Press and put three scoops of ground coffee into the French Press with 12-ounces (1.5 cups) of water. That seemed to do the trick. If you prefer stronger coffee, you may wish to use more. I like light to medium strength, so this worked perfectly for me.
