Misleading product description - highly overpriced

The product description mention "This metallic ironing board cover is ideal for use with either a normal or steam iron. The cover comes complete with a foam underlay so you're good to go straight out of the packet."
But what comes is just the 'Top Layer Only'.
Only after receiving the product and finding a difference v/s what I expected I re-checked the product description and find that they do mention that the underlay is to be purchased separately.
Its my mistake not to go thru the fine print. S$31+ just for the cover is highly overpriced, at least for me. So Buyer Beware.

Well it was returned...very disapointed. First of all the picture of the packaging for this product (when you zoom in on the packaging) stated it was a "complete set"..both cover and cushion/padding. But when it was shipped to me the outside of the packaging said it was just the cover (and not a "complete set" as the picture described). You had to buy the padding seperatly and on the packaging it even recommended not using it without the padding. So then I looked for another Brabantia ironing board cover+padding ("a complete set") on Amazon and found one and it was the same price as the original one i got without the padding. So buyer beware. If you are looking for a complete set both cover and padding see the item on Amazon described as follows:
Brabantia Size C Extra Thick Felt & Foam Underlay Ironing Board Cover, 49" x 18"
This is the one that is indeed a complete set. And the picture of the packaging when you zoom in on it does say it is a complete set. The original one I bought had a picture of the packaging that was inaccurate.
IT MUST SAY "EXTRA THICK FELT AND FOAM UNDERLAY IRONING BOARD COVER" and that is the right one to buy. Best of all :same price

Amazon reacted incredibly quickly!!!! I have just got the second replacement tonight. Again, many thanks Amazon. I greatly appreciate your efforts.

However, it’s nothing to do with Amazon though, this product is just bad and looks terribly cheap so that we would only waste our money on nothing. If it were like 10 bucks, I think I would compromise it’s quality though.

The first one was simply defect and the second one was with big brown stains.

I leave my review about the first review. Hope it will help you:

I have just got a replacement. And this time there are BIG DIRTY STAINS!! How disappointing!!!

The first one was defect and another string didn’t move at all. It took me more than 30 minutes to give it a try. In the end, I figured out that it WAS kaput from the very beginning.

The second one looks like used for ages and there are huge, looks-like-burned dark spots.
The product seems like as if it had been stocked for decades.

At least, Amazon reacted immediately after complaining about the first one. And the new one was delivered two days later and I was very happy about their quick reaction. Amazon does care about us!! Well done!

However, it makes me extremely frustrated and disappointed that even the new replacement was not in a perfect condition to offer consumers in general. I have never experienced something like this before.

I have been using Brabantia products for uncountless years and was always completely satisfied with them. Indeed, I am one of their loyal customers. They used to symbolize “QUALITY”.

However, this product itself is poor. The material is super thin and looks cheap. BUT it’s all about good wills and sincerity. Those represent the entire company, which are more important than just its quality.

It took me a plenty of time, money and above all huge disappointments after being delivered twice in a row. Time is money and we cannot buy time.

Nevertheless, all the bad experiences now, big thanks for your efforts, dear Amazon!

"Dental Floss" Tightening mechanism, Stupid Manufacturer's Label Sewn to Work Surface

When I first got this product my impression was "how am I going to get it to actually stay put on my ironing board" but if you "keep the faith" and keep pulling on the little bit of "dental floss" that they provide around the perimeter to tighten the fit, eventually it does tighten up -- sufficiently, if not perfectly. And contrary to my expectation, neither the "dental floss" nor any other part of the product broke during the tightening. But the other part of my beef is, contrary to the picture shown, the manufacturer has sewn a large manufacturer's label to the "useful" working face of the product, cutting significantly into the useful work surface area -- cutting into about four inches of the big end of the useful work surface! Why would anyone in their right mind do such a thing? With a couple minutes work I was able pull out the threads, and remove the label, but really, How Stupid Is That?

I actually love to iron. I know in the world of normal folk that is an unusual trait. I even started at a young age, helping a neighbor who brought in ironing to make money. I've learned about how to iron things properly and have gadgets to iron sleeves and cuffs, etc. I own 3 irons. With all this said, you know my ironing board is IMPORTANT to me. It was time to replace my padding and get a new cover (just because). I read reviews and checked online and it all lead my to the Brabantia. Why hadn't I heard of this company before? So I purchased the felt pad and waited a couple of days in expectation until it arrived. I immediately opened the package and set it up. I found it easy to do. Just lay the felt on the floor (a clean floor of course), lay your folded up iron on top, mark it's boarders, then cut out. A perfectly sized pad for your board. Of course I had to test is immediately. If one could actually describe an ironing experience as sublime, this was it. It was the perfect thickness and firmness to facilitate an easy ironing experience. I happily, and quickly finished my ironing task, folded up the board, and now look forward to my next basket of laundry!
