3.0 out of 5 stars Not comprehensive milestone based curriculum
Reviewed in the United States on 8 October 2020
I was expecting a more comprehensive curriculum from something that states "a whole year of exercises", but each subject is in a block in the book. Unlike the summer bridge book, this one does not have mixed curriculum and milestones to achieve.

I guess it could work well for people supplementing curriculum, because it's easy to find a certain subject, but to use as a whole it's frustrating. The phonics section starts with simple beginning and ending sounds, while the reading section starts with an entire passage. I feel like I need to rip the whole book apart and reassemble it in a 3 ring binder in a way that progresses.

Additionally, cursive takes up a huge chunk of pages smack in the middle of the book (see my pic). I personally feel that cursive is a 3rd-4th grade skill and will not use those pages at all.

The book does come with stickers, which are cute, but there is no reward path or place to put the stickers. It's just a random page of stickers at the back to hand out at your discretion.

There is a nice poster of the United States, but there's only a single (rather boring) exercise involving the states and capitals, so you'll need to largely come up with activities on your own for that.

Altogether, I'm disappointed that it's not more like the summer bridge book, which we LOVED. Hopefully, I can make it work
