To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we do not use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I ordered this from Amazon on 11/17/20. I found it interesting that the print date is the same date as my order date.
The Cons: I immediately noticed there isn’t an index to quickly access individual recipes and there are quite a few errors that I think could have easily been caught by a proofreader. For example, in the Table of Contents, Chapter 5, “Snack & Appetizer” is on page 98 but when you flip to Chapter 8, Dehydrated, on Page 159 it says Chapter 5 at the top of the page. Also, I found recipes repeated within the same chapter by changing the recipe title. For example, page 187 “Vanilla Butter Cake” is the exact same recipe as “Simple Butter Cake”, on page 185.
The Pros: the recipes are not complicated recipes, but rather easy recipes, often using ingredients commonly found on hand; recipes with real ingredients, not pre-packaged, overly processed foods. Another plus - I really appreciate having a cookbook that corresponds with the appliance that I have, with recipes that describe what rack level to use, etc.
Disappointing cookbook! Recipes are not listed in any organized order. No index to search for recipes. The time has been incorrect causing chicken, for instance, to be well done. I specifically ordered this “Breville” cookbook because I thought different ovens cook times could be inconsistent but I have a Brevile oven?
Barely legible print. No index. Useless graghics. Keeps refering to level 6 rack position. There's not one on my Breville Smart Oven! Probably why no Breville photo on front cover. Reads like it's written for a mini oven, or another brand. Save your $$. One star is too high.
