Product description
Review
A Brief Tour of Higher Consciousness is a user-friendly, comical approach to what can be impenetrable subject matter. Bentov keeps in touch with his audience by providing it with images and physical analogies. For those who crave a more objective view of the same philosophy, Bentov's work is complemented by a selection of essays by other authors dealing with same subject matter in a more traditionally scientific manner. Though not as easy to read as Bentov's humorous writing, it is refreshing to see something annotated and sustantiated. It reminds us that the insights gained from Bentov's intuition have their roots in fields ranging from Eastern philosophy to modern physics. A Brief Tour of Higher Consciousness is a light but satisfying foray into the cosmos. It will please both the layperson and the educated physicist, and will make anyone chuckle.-- "Patrick Brennan, Fate, February 2001"
A delightfully ingenious cosmic comedy on the nature and structure of ultimates. Here are travelers tales such as you rarely find; metaphysical jaunts from one end of the universe to the other.-- "Jean Houston, The Foundation for Mind Research"
He is another author who has successfully shown the parallels between science and spirituality. I most recommend his works, especially A Brief Tour of Higher Consciousness for it will inspire you in most unimaginable ways.-- "Jaye C. Beldo, The Konformist"
This is a book to puzzle you, delight you, and give you some 'Ahs' in your search to meet yourself and the nature of reality!-- "Arlene Goetze, Network for Women's Spirituality, March/April/May 2002"

CONSCIOUSNESS "A delightfully ingenious cosmic comedy on the nature and structure of ultimates. Here are travelers' tales such as you rarely find--metaphysical jaunts from one end of the universe to the other." --Jean Houston, Ph.D. The Foundation for Mind Research All aboard for the excursion of a lifetime as Itzhak Bentov, the celebrated engineer, inventor, and mystic, takes you on a tour of the universe, pure consciousness, and all that lies beyond. Using comical sketches, simple metaphors, and his famous wit and humor, Bentov explains the nature of reality, points out the sights in Nirvana and the Void, and eventually takes you to a meeting with your higher self. Along the way, Bentov illuminates the Kabbalistic principles of number and sound, the meaning of cosmic shapes and symbols, the consciousness of devas, and the nature of the absolute. Ultimately, he shows that the universe and thought are inseparable, and that the thoughts of all human beings affect each other and in turn the whole universe--an idea with obvious and far-reaching implications.Anyone interested in the inner reaches of the mind, the greater structure of the cosmos, and the spiritual evolution of humanity will find A Brief Tour of Higher Consciousness an informed and delightful traveling companion. ITZHAK BENTOV was a mechanical engineer who combined a brilliant mind for mechanisms and structures with a lifelong interest in meditation to describe quantum physics and the advanced states of higher awareness in ways easily grasped by readers. He is also the author of Stalking the Wild Pendulum.

Re-think Reality and get let in on the Great Cosmic Joke

Itzhak Bentov is someone that most people don't know or study...but that's a serious mistake. This little book, along with his whimsical illustrations, makes you think and re-think what you believe is "reality." It's one of my favorite book recommendation for anyone interested in the big story or the "Great Cosmic Joke." I have read and re-read this book at least a half dozen times...and it's been one of the key influences fo the "Cosmic Journal" I created.

A fascinating link from the cosmos to the atom

A fascinating book. Some very deep subject matter leavened and made accessible with charming original illustrations and a good portion of humor. One concept alone made this little volume worth some time ... and that is Bentov's exploration into the idea of cosmic "space" finding its mirror in an individual atom with a proportionate amount of that same "space". For me it is a verifiable fact ... which translates seemlessly into my own Advaitist belief in the common source and consciousness of all living things Bentov gave me an invaluable tool in this simple and beautiful concept. One I can use so well in my own work.
My only caveat is a chapter devoted to "naming" and "quantifying" the Cosmos .... which quite simply cannot be done. How many layers and what their "names" may be is sheer conjecture and finds no place in serious discussion. We must be content to accept that there are things we simply do not know. Adding structure and nomenclature to the unknowable weakens an otherwise very provocative and exciting exposition.

Relax and Have Fun !

This little book is kind of a continuation of the author's Pendulum book. There is also a DVD presentation available.
There are tons of books available on the topic of Consciousness and Awareness. But this one is simply a class of its own, because of the humor, simplicity and graphics. If you fast forward to the end conclusion, Relax and have fun, because there is no end to this evolution.
As an Abraham-Hicks follower, Bentov's conclusion is same as Abraham-Hicks.
In the DVD, the first few minutes you can watch Bentov's short interview-presentation. And you can feel his easiness and fun attitude.

Why haven't I found this book before? It is opening up my mind to how this universe really works, when I've been focused on the Higgs boson! It is a must read for anyone who wants to know more about how it all works. I'm so grateful to Itzhak's wife for getting this information published.
