An excellent and illuminating overview of Latour from the point of view of political philosophy. In a few places Harman gets a little too preoccupied with repeating certain points of his own, or taxonomising ideas that Latour himself seems to leave more fluid. But these are small quibbles. A really engaging, useful book which has pointed me to many sources I didn't know about that I now want to follow up.
i believe that graham harman is one of the best prose writers working today in any genre. ontology is not my field, nor is political theory. but there is a music and a compositional sophistication in harman's books that makes me keep reading them.
one bit of feedback. this book literally fell apart in my hands. large page ranges detached. the covers rolled back (in my admittedly humid environment). i hope mr. harman will encourage his publishers to make stronger books in the future. i will continue to read everything he publishes.
