If you've already been using double Wiimotes on Gold's Gym Cardio Workout - Nintendo Wii , Gold's Gym Dance Workout - Nintendo Wii , or ExerBeat - Nintendo Wii , you'll want to spring for 2 sets. I found it awkward and unsatisfying going back to the cable for the boxing and karate.
Two sets of these are currently less than half the price for the wireless 2lb Wii weights, with the added benefit of getting the "rumble" in both hands. I'm not sure why I waited so long to get them (perhaps they cost a lot more years ago?)
That said, they work great with boxing and karate once you learn not to press the + button in your left hand. The plastic bites a little at the crook of your thumb, but a little tape or craft foam will take care of that. You might have to adapt your guard so you don't hit yourself in the face if you haven't used dumbbells before, haha. I like the rumble, so it's worth it.
You probably only need one set if you intend to use them for regular games or if you've never used the double Wiimote option. I would think you'd need two for the dance options on the games above, but I don't play those so I can't be sure.
Only con is that the weights are pretty light and there's no way to adjust the weights to be heavier as I get stronger. Using regular dumbbells is awkward with the remote. If there was just some rings or something to add to these it would be perfect.
