Soothing shampoo for sensitive scalps

My scalp issues have constantly been the vain of my existence. I take extreme precautions to avoid irritation. No matter what I use, my scalp gets irritated. I heard about this stuff on a blog and ordered it almost immediately. Most folks claim it smells amazing but I wouldn't go that far. It smells ok. It is a bit pricey but I would order cases of this stuff. It has not only healed my scalp but it has made my hair a bit healthier. My scalp feels clean and is soothed. I am ordering the conditioner next. I also want to add that the scalp serum (Sage & Cedar) is part of my routine. Both have changed my scalp drastically. One last note: I have not seen a change in my dandruff. My scalp still flakes and feels dry at times. As stated earlier, I want to try Aesop's conditioner. I am still using a name brand and it may be the culprit. This shampoo doesn't claim to remove flakes, just helps with irritation. It is excellent as a calming shampoo.

This is all branding. The product itself increased my dry scalp, and left my hair feel squeaky clean in a bad way. Like washing my hair with Windex

I can't believe what happened to my hair after this

This shampoo is deemed calming for it's purpose it to balance you hair's and scalp's natural ph, and thus nurse it and nurtutre it back to it's original state. I must note that my hair is caucasian, very salon treated. I had naturally straight hair but I was yoing and permed it for curls when I was 10. Then I did not like the feeling and wore it off... my hair turned into a wavy puff like texture (not nice my fault I know) For years I have dyed it from black, to red, to blonde, to purple, you name it. It is naturally very dark brown but not black. So recently I decided to invest in really saving my hair. I cut it, dyed it a dark brown, and started using the testers. It became evident that not only does this cleanse, it relaxes and calms your hair and scalp. You are not supposed to use much, actually like the size of a dime and foam it from hand rubbing with water, and massage onto scalp and hair. At 1st it may feel coarse, because it is stripping all the chemichals, but for me after a few days, once I used it my hair felt like silk when washing it. And you only need so much especially with short hair. This is the same as skin. When you over dry skin produces over hydration thus break outs. With chemichal shampoos it's the same, it may over dry or over hydrate. Not this one, in a very short time it balanced my scalp, which ultimately my hair. This is imho better than the colour protection one because it is so gentle and un abrasive that it even actually doesn't strip your color. U use this with the rose hair and scalp mask, combined with japanese brand MUCOTTA hair mask number 5, and hey I just blow dry my hair and it dries straight, silky, shinny and healthy. Love this product.

Is the secret ingredient catnip?
13 December 2019 -

I have tried just about every shampoo out there for my itchy, oily scalp. I do not have dandruff or flakes but a weird combo of extreme itch and oil. My shower looks like a shampoo graveyard. Everything from Dove to high end salon brands and medicated shampoos. I even ordered a few UK brands not available in the states in desperation. I was on the hunt for over 18 months for a shampoo that would work with my scalp. THIS finally did the trick. Why? I don't know. But it's gentle and cleansing. Doesn't cause my scalp to react. The fact that it smells good and lathers well is a bonus. Plus it balances the oiliness of my scalp without drying it.
Only problem? See the picture attached. One of my cats acts like my hair is a catnip patch when I use it. It's irresistible to him.
One note: make sure you buy yours from an authorized retailer so you are sure you are getting the authentic product. I buy mine from Nordstrom.
