- The Very Finest Fish Oil in lemon flavor has received numerous awards for its taste and quality. To ensure maximum freshness, The Very Finest Fish Oil is closely managed from sea to store. We source the highest quality, deep, cold-water fish using traditional, sustainable methods. The Very Finest Fish Oil is then bottled with a touch of vitamin E and is given a nitrogen flush to remove oxygen and help prevent oxidation. Each teaspoon of The Very Finest Fish Oil provides 1,600 mg of omega-3s, including EPA and DHA, which support heart, brain, vision, and joint health. Like all Carlson omega-3s freshness, potency, and purity are guaranteed.

Carlson began in Chicago in 1965 as one woman’s mission to improve the health of her family by creating nutritional supplements with high-quality ingredients. Susan Carlson’s father suffered from heart issues but found relief after taking vitamin E. Inspired by this discovery and her background as a pharmacist, Susan created one of the first full lines of vitamin E worldwide, and the product line continued growing to meet the health needs of local families. Carlson began popping up on store shelves around Chicago, and the wave continued across the nation. Today, the commitment to helping families live a healthier lifestyle continues, as the next generation of the Carlson family leads the company. Carlson now offers more than 200 vitamins, minerals, omega-3s, kid’s products, and other high-quality nutritional supplements. At Carlson, our family cares about the health of your family.

I give my kids a single 5ml spoonful (think Calpol spoon) per day and my 4 and 8 year old both take it happily every morning. Adults might want to go for 2 spoonfuls per day as you want nearer to 4000mg of Omega 3 if possible, but I think 1 spoonful per day is enough for the kids. At that rate I get 50 days supply from one of these bottles which isn't too bad for a high quality fish oil.
The only downside is that due to this being an imported product, the price has been steadily creeping up as the value of the pound drops. I can't knock the product for that, but it's just something to be aware of. As mentioned above, the lemon and orange flavours are rarely the same price, so it's worth a quick comparison to see which is cheapest at the time.
Finally, as stated on the label, make sure you always store the bottle in the fridge, just to make sure the oil doesn't go rancid. The product does contain vitamin E to help prevent this from happening, but even so keeping it below 5C once opened is essential in my opinion.
By the way, if you want capsules instead, go for the BULK POWDERS Super Strength Omega 3 Softgels, 1000 mg. There's no better value Omega 3 capsule out there and you can find those on Amazon too.
The product has always been fantastic and the taste for me at least I've never had issue with. The flavour is very minimal making it a great oil to swallow neat when needed. I've never really had any bad flavour repeat on me with this oil either. Unlike some other brands I've tried over the years.
However, the price now is just too high. When I first started purchaing this product it was for £23 a bottle. At nearly double the price now, I just can't bring myself to continue paying for it. However is price isn't an issue for you, then I don't think you would be disappointed in this purchase.
Even my sons (4 and 7 years old) take a spoonful without complaints (despite them being very picky)
