Not for separating L and R channels, these are "Y" cables. Vendor rename product.

Well, this was sort of a mistaken identity case. I purchased this cable set thinking they were for channel separation for left and right speakers as the cables are colored white and red, which typically denote when only one of the two audio channels goes to our designated color... Nope... These cables are "y" sharing cables to plug in, for example, two sets of headphones so that two people can listed together to the same audio source...

I wanted to use these cables to connect two Google Home Max speakers to my computer... Nope... Both speakers were playing both audio channels so there was no stereo separation, it was like a mono source of audio kind of thing... So I had to purchase a different cable to "Split" L and R channels.

Not bad cables, just misleadingly using white and red when there's no need for these particular cables and how they're wired.

With sympathy for the other reviewer who wanted a regular headphone splitter, I was happy to find that -- contrary to the description -- this does indeed separate the right- and left-channel signals. I have confirmed this both functionally and with the continuity check function of a multimeter and a bare 3.5mm stereo plug. On the white jack, only tip and sleeve are connected; on the red jack, only ring and sleeve are connected.

I'm using it to hook up a pair of clip-on microphones -- which each put their signal on both the tip and ring of their plug -- to a camcorder. This adapter allows me to get one microphone on the left and the other on the right... makes balancing levels between two speakers a little easier.

Note that this will work only if your mono microphones use tip-ring-sleeve and connect the signal to both tip and ring -- sleeve remains ground. I have another microphone that uses the usual mono tip-sleeve plug... I am planning to cut off this plug and replace it with a tip-ring-sleeve plug wired like the others.

So, Cmple is exactly wrong about how this splitter works, but it's perfect for the purpose I describe. Not useful for headphones. Maybe they should call it a "dual-mono-to-stereo microphone combiner."

Does the job. Loose feeling RCA connection.

Works well for direct connection from my PS3 to my soundbar. HDMI to the TV and Optical cable to soundbar caused a strange sound delay problem to include missing out on the first sounds after a period of silence or the beginning of a music track in between songs. I dont know where the problem lies, but this fixed it. I dont have any problems with my HDMI connected cable box, so I think there is some issue with the PS3 HDMI output. The same thing happened with my generation 1 PS3 as my new PS3 Slim.

The rca cables don't feel like they connect securely, so if there is any tension pulling on the cable they will probably fall out. The 3.5mm plug fits very securly though.

It does the job, just not a secure feeling connection.

I only needed three of these but for the price this was the best deal. I have an old Bose Acustic wave that was my dad's. I now can have several things all attached at once into the only two inputs.
