I’m reviewing the V5 version for year 2020. I have used the projector for 3 months now. I really want to like the unit. I have used 4 projectors since I discovered the value of having a portable unit is so much more useful. Just warning the V5 doesn’t have battery plainly described in the advertisement so if your planning toting the unit as a portable projector/ charger get the a different unit.
The Bad: the Auto Keystone feature is limited though it works I ended doing a manual keystone to make it work. The Manual Focus, I’m not sure if it’s just my unit but every time I get the right focus it seems to reset when I turn off the unit which forces me to redo every time I turn ON the unit! Lastly the Auto On feature. Well it doesn’t exist, what I mean by this is pairing it with google chrome so you can use as a smart feature with google home.
The Ugly: this unit cost me 450 USD. You know what you can get 500 USD a 4K quantum dot tech by Philips. The 4K feature in this projector seems like larger 1080p! It’s not at all sharper. At the end of the day completely unsatisfied with the brand. I should have purchased the Xigimi or other reputable brand.
This is not a negative rant! It’s just an honest review of the unit from a guy with experience with portable projector.
The Good: the AirPlay and miracast works 95% of the time. It’s a not a smooth feature if your using a default window or Apple device. There is enough android feature to keep the unit usable and the speaker is loud enough for 60-75 decibel ambient noise. It’s acceptable to me with its limited size. The unit is small and light enough to be carried around comfortably. Finally the brightness is good enough for fluorescent medium light environment. Day light open window forget about it. Dark theater scenario is good! impressive enough to wow your late Netflix and Chill scenario.
