- Hate boring, cold coffee? Us too. Our huge capacity kit is vacuum-layered and double-filtered for flavor fuller than a centipede’s sock drawer and a toasty brew for longer. Oh yeah, you even get a mini canister for storing your next caffeine hit
- Keep coffee (or tea) warm for 60 minutes longer than glass. 304 stainless steel is 33% thicker and 20% heavier than the competition. A cool touch handle protects your hands and the spring-loaded, double-screen filter brews a cleaner cup
- Professional-grade in every way. This brewer is tough, durable and rust proof. Unlike glass it won’t break when you drop it (but your floor might need some attention). Your search for coffee that makes you smile every time ends here
- Plunge into next-level coffee. The Gator press is uniquely designed to stop sediment but let the delicious coffee oils into your cup. This results in a rich, full-bodied brew that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. Water becomes magic

I have to admit that one of the first things that attracted me to this press was the color -- I got it in orange, and it nicely complements my set of orange mugs from Maxwell&Williams and the Secura water kettle. But what sold me on this was the sturdy design: I love the thick lid and how smoothly the press goes down (it's like getting a car with a steering wheel support after you've driven an old clunker).
I agree with other reviewers that the little complimentary canister is not very useful though (I got one with the press, and another with a big canister I bought for the coffee): they are tiny mason jars clad in orange metal casing, but without the bottom, leaving rather sharp edges, which makes it difficult to hold on to while unscrewing the top (perhaps a more user-friendly improvement would have been having a similar enclosure as the big canisters). That said, this is a minor point and doesn't diminish the attractiveness of the whole press.
So I had an issue with initial product (please see my review below), but a month or so after I left the first updated review, the founder of the company reached out to me, and offered to make it right. Once he made contact, he was helpful, courteous, and prompt. Although I was disappointed by the issue that I had, it was completely offset by superb customer service.
We need more companies out there likes this. Good on them! At this point, I'd definitely buy another product from them.
(Here's hoping I don't need to edit this review again.)
**First Updated Review**
I really liked this when I first got it, but after less than a month of regular us, (i.e. daily, at home, coffee brewing), it has already started to fall apart. As you can see in the attached image, the bottom is starting to come apart from the sides (two of the pictures -- the third shows the side that is still attached as it is supposed to be). It's still functional, but I'm (a) really concerned about how long it will continue to last given the build quality, and (b) that it will scratch my counter-tops.
I got this to replace an old glass French Press. I wasn't sure that I'd like it, and after using if for several weeks, I just wished I'd switch a long time ago. Looks good, seems to be built really well, and -- most important -- makes a fine cup of coffee.
Possibly got an overstock Item, possibly preused. Mine arrived with many scratches and gouges in the paint, on both the French press and accessory stoage container. The box looked preopened.
Design preference wise, the screen makes an unpleasant sound against the inside wall, probably not a functionally bad thing, just sounds bad. Also the paint feels like sandpaper, it feels unpleasant to touch. The pictures make it look smooth.
I'm sure it functionally works well, many people here like it, and I bought it based on those reivews, just not the best QC. This could be an issue on Amazon's end and not the manufacturer.
Despite the scratches and screen rubbing noise I'd probably keep it if the unit felt good to touch, which it doesn't, feels like sandpaper. They should make the paint similar to the Klean Kanteen bottles, thick and smooth, they could even make it matter finish instead of glossy.
I really wanted to like this, but unfortunately I'll be returning this. I'm sure it makes good coffee though.
Not every product is perfect...but standing behind the product is a good way to instill belief in the company. I highly recommend this if you're in the market for a steel french press. I'm really impressed.
Original review- It was fine...at first. But we've had it just a couple of months and already there is a leak into the walls of it. It is "vacuum" sealed...but now has water sloshing around in there. You can hear it by shaking or moving it. I looked at the seams and seals and can't see where it is leaking but clearly it isn't made to a very high standard.
