The skillet works well for the general cooking of different kinds of meals. I bought this as an alternative to the nonstick pans in the house for several reasons: 1) it cooks the food differently with the iron material, 2) the pan will probably last a lifetime, 3) It's a nice alternative and gets me a little iron in the diet.
The skillet itself is quite big enough with the 10 inch diameter. The depth is about 2-3 inches which gives the pan a nice amount of space to work with most foods to cook with. Being iron, the skillet is heavy but very sturdy. The handle is short but not enough to be detrimental to handling on the stove. Plus, it has a lip on the opposite side to carry/move with two hands.
The skillet heats up FAST and does a great job cooking. I warmed some meatballs and they turned a nice brown with not much burning. I strongly suggest researching how to maintain a skillet as it is not your normal pan. Cooking spray, olive oil, or vegetable oil is what should be used for cooking and maintenance. Overall, if you're reading this and looking at skillets this one is a great price and does the job well. I've been happy with it and once you learn how to maintain/season the skillet, you won't be sorry.
