Most helpful customer reviews on Amazon.com

I first looked at a Scuf controller 5 years ago. I filled out what controller I wanted and almost laughed when I saw the price was $180. How did it cost $130 for them to just put a couple tiny plastic paddles on the back of a controller?
I never bought one and refused to because that price was ridiculous. So I see this Strike Pack a couple months back. I read reviews for a couple weeks and watched videos and finally decided to order it.
It came in the mail and I set it up and plugged it in. It didn’t work. Long story short I fiddled around for an hour and realized the USB wasn’t even fully plugged in to the controller.
I read some people say that you really had to PUSH HARD on the USB until it clicked a second time, but I underestimated how hard you had to push. So I really gave it some elbow grease, it snapped in, and ouilla it worked.
It took 30 seconds to sign in and map the buttons and I was off.
The game I’m playing is the one everybody is sick of hearing about, Fortnite. But the very first game I was able to jump around and build and shotty at the same time without moving my thumbs. It was amazing.
Now here we are a couple months later and I’m twice as good as I was then. I’ve won a bunch of Solos and have no problem outplaying most people because I don’t have to move my thumbs around. This thing has worked amazing and it’s incredibly cheaper than anything else like it out there.
I didn’t want to write the review because I have an advantage over everyone on console by using this thing. But at the same time I hate that Scuf has a monopoly on modded controllers and charges 400% of what this thing costs. And it’s also odd to me that the negative reviews on here will end up saying they should “Just buy a Scuf” instead.
So if you’d rather spend $40 instead of $150+ I’d say give this thing a try. You won’t regret it

Pros:
-I got this mainly for the price. $40 for this instead of $200+ for a scuf controller was so worth it.
-paddles are amazing with fortnite in particular. The one aspect of my game that improved was my aim, because the benefit of paddles is you can jump and switch to build mode without removing your right thumb from the aiming toggle.
-I won’t necessarily say it improved my building, but I will say it has slightly improved my editing which was surprising.
Cons:
-this is more of a con for me because I have small hands/fingers, but i wasn’t really able to reach the paddles it comes with and had to purchase their alternative paddles on their website designed for “a relaxed fit” aka me lol
-you have to keep it plugged into your ps4 at all times and it cannot be wireless.
-paddles in general, whether it be this or a scuf controller takes time to adapt and re learn muscle memory. It took me a solid 2-2.5 weeks on playground mode practicing before I felt comfortable going on disco domination, and then to an actual game. Now I’m starting to feel very comfortable and confident in my building and fighting again, but I was a bot in the beginning transition stages.
Overall, it was 110% worth it. It holds up better than scufs do apparently (my friend just had to send his scuf in for repairs and he hasn’t even had it for a year).
I also want to add that I don’t use the mods, I heard you could get banned for using mods in fortnite so just be careful. I also play black ops 4 and love the paddles in that game too (being able to jump and crouch/slide while aiming in that game is nice as well).

1. Plug the USB into the controller and the Dominator VERY firmly.
2. When mapping buttons to your paddles (Dominator), the manual says you can use the paddle, but that is NOT true. You have to use the tiny square button (above the paddle) , then you select controller button to map to.
*These two idiosyncrasies caused me hours to figure out , -1 one star.
DO NOT BUY MODPACK FOR FORTNITE! Yes you have to actually sign up for a sub to get the modpack for Fortnite (and other games). I can tell you I have extensively tested the Modpass.ca for fortnite. It has potential, but it does not work like all their misleading youtube videos. It's very hackish, for ex., you have to look a certain direction before using a build mod. Plus, mods conflict with ea. other. If you set one mod it breaks functionality elsewhere. Like a mod for firing, will screw you up when using your pick axe to harvest mats. It's just plain BROKEN; and they shouldn't be able to charge $ for this crappy software. This is related to this product, b/c really this thing isn't any fun w/out modpacks, it's just o.k.
3. Not sure if the manual says it or not, but the quick mods and even the built-in mods have to be enabled/disabled while the controller is in MOD mode. I knew this was the case when mapping buttons, but just to [dis]enable already configured mods, that seems a bit strange.
4. I seem to lose my button mappings when I go back into MOD mode, then I have to remap buttons. Will test this more , - 1/2 star.
I have not tested any mod packs for games, but if you do want one, you will have to subscribe to their service, $15 / yr. I think you should at least get 1 game pack for free at the price of this thing. - 1/2 star.
