This book actually says: "This edition is manufactured in India and is authorized fro sale only in India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives. Circulation of this edition outside of these territories is UNAUTHORIZED."
The text is riddled with known errors. Many of the same problems are just wrong. And there were a number of completely blank (missing text) pages.
I had high hopes for this but the "3rd Edition Global Edition" - which is on the title page not the cover. Is just a bad edition. This was the $20 paperback edition. Funny, I knew something was fishy with this price. Returned the book.

Absolute garbage. The instruction material is the same but the practice problems and homework are riddled with errors. Do not buy this book if you are taking a class that uses it. The practice and homework problems are so bad that the authors at Carnegie Mellon posted this: "Unfortunately, the publisher arranged for the generation of a different set of practice and homework problems in the global edition. The person doing this didn't do a very good job, and so these problems and their solutions have many errors. We have not created an errata for this edition."

All you need that is not elsewhere23 August 2018 - Published on Amazon.com
By reading this book, you will gain a very deep understanding of how your program, specifically C, would be executed on hardware, and it gives very practical examples with rigorous explanations. I have read couple of books and neither touched material on this book on SW/HW interface with the depth, breadth and clearness of this book. As a firmware engineer in a leading company, I highly recommend this book.

Not North American Edition17 June 2020 - Published on Amazon.com
As mentioned in other reviews, this edition is not the North American edition. This is honestly not a big deal as the content is all the same, except for some scuffed practice problems. I just wish they were transparent about what they were selling. Looking at this page there is very little indication that this is NOT the north American edition and I bought it under the impression that it was. Overall a 5/5 for the book and a 0/5 for honesty.

don't buy, book is full of errors13 December 2020 - Published on Amazon.com
This book is an international edition with exercises that contain many errors. If you are a US student using this book for a class, it will be better to get the regular US edition. Moreover, this book is not printed in colors so many of the illustrations and diagrams are confusing and hard to read.
