We are happy with it, it works well and is a good price. I am giving it 4 stars because we also have a yeti and feel like the yeti mug has better insulation, keeping our coffee warm for a longer time. However the leak protection on this contigo mug is superior to the yeti travel mug we have. The price is reasonable and definitely worth it if you have drinks on the go regularly.

I’m still worried they’re soldering with lead and can’t be sure but this mug finally claims to be dishwasher safe which gives me more confidence that a safer solder was used in this new design (can the Contigo fact check here?).
My major beef is the product was shipped by Amazon in a padded envelope and no additional packaging. As you can see the bottom is already dented in two places. It takes a lot to dent my other Contigo mugs so Contigo or Amazon’s choice to go frustration free In my n of 1 backfired. As a plus, as you can see, the sticker came off real easily. That’s not a given most products like this.
The mug is 5 stars but Amazon and Contigo’s choice to ship with no protection strips two stars away. I hope in the future this changes or I can buy at retail so my mug isn’t damaged on arrival.
- The protect is... dare I say.... "Sexy".
- No issue with holding while there is hot coffee inside
- Cleaning, as with most Contigo products, is simple. Ensure you follow the recommendations.
- No spills and seals up nicely
- Coffee stayed at good temperature throughout the day.
There is on flaw or concern that I have that I actually would like Contigo to look into.
The top gets uncomfortably hotter than the rest of mug when hot coffee is it.
I never fill this up to the top, it is between 1/2 and 3/4 at most. After a few minutes, the main body is still cool to the touch, but the top lid is actually hot. It has not gotten to the point of concern or burning when I drink but you definitely could not carry it around the top. So please keep that in mind.
