Fret no more, the Contigo Kids AUTOSPOUT Straw Water Bottle with Easy-Clean Lid has come to the rescue! Kids get a kick out of pressing a button to open the pop-up straw for effortless one-handed drinking, and they can easily push the spout under the cover to protect the mouthpiece from the elements. Adults appreciate that the straw features a spill-proof valve so car seats and tables are safe from spills—even if little ones hold the bottle upside down. When it's time to clean up, you’ll be happy to know that all parts are top-rack dishwasher-safe, the lid easily disassembles for full-access cleaning, and the lid is designed to eliminate all nooks and crannies in which dirt and grime might accumulate. Rest assured, your new water bottle comes with a guarantee and is made with FDA-approved, BPA-free materials that won’t give off plastic odors or tastes. For ages 3 and up.
For the past 12 years, we have put creating innovative solutions at the forefront of everything that we do. It all began with an idea to eliminate spills with a coffee mug that sealed between sips. From there, we engineered a patented technology called Autoseal to deliver on that groundbreaking idea. We received such great feedback that we decided to jump in and start to revolutionize the whole beverageware category (travel mugs, water bottles, tumblers, kid’s bottle, etc.)

(i tried to post this review on contigo's site and they rejected it, by the way)
I don't know how, but they do. They don't leak around the lid's seal, it's from the straw region. I'd be tempted to say it was a faulty cup except both the orange and blue ones leak. In fact, I have a larger Contigo much like these two and it also leaks from the straw area. I want to love these. The design is great, but the leaking makes me crazy. We only put water in them, so it's not like we've got sticky juice everywhere. Nonetheless, when they're in my kids' backpacks with lunches and papers and whatever else they shove in there, I don't want to deal with everything else getting soggy.
I'm pretty disappointed.
