  1. Some of the storage capacity is used for formatting and other purposes and is not available for data storage. 1GB equals 1 billion bytes. Not all capacities available at initial launch.
  2. Typical I/O performance numbers as measured using CrystalDiskMark with a queue depth of 32 and write cache enabled. Fresh out-of-box (FOB) state is assumed. For performance measurement purposes, the SSD may be restored to FOB state using the secure erase command. System variations will affect measured results.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good M.2 NVME SSD for the price
By Gerald Geow on 1 January 2021
Crucial seems to be the brand with the cheap and good SSD if you want to upgrade from your old SSD, like me, from my Samsung 850 EVO SATA SSD, although this will not make Windows load any faster than the SATA SSD. it still is hella fast, with Cyberpunk 2077 loading in just 5 seconds from the Main Menu, so yeah, go put Cyberpunk 2077 on this SSD and Pop in will be a thing of the past. although i can't say the same thing about the bugs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely fantastic speeds!
Reviewed in the United States on 30 October 2020
Although I have been running SSD only computers for a while, they have always been the standard SATA SSDs, limited to about 550MB/sec transfer rate, which is already very fast when compared to even the fastest SATA HDs. However after researching and watching many review videos, I decided to give the Crucial P5 a shot, and I am extremely glad I did! As you can see in the two uploaded screenshots I have provided, my SATA SSD, (a Crucial MX500 1TB) reads at about 562 MB/sec and writes at about 517 MB/sec. However when running that same test on the Crucial P5 NVME SSD, the read speeds are around 3500 MB/sec and write speed is around 3200 MB/sec! The speed increase is off the charts! I am very happy with my purchase!

Works as expected. Write speeds are as advertised. Trades blows with 970 evo, but falls behind at smaller reads/writes. Peek write speeds beat 970 evo hands down. See Crystal disk mark for details. Fresh install of windows
