There are many ways to use these pigment drops. Since I found the exact right color, and since I do not need heavy cover, I will be using these drops sparingly as my foundation.
To speak of my experience with choosing a color: My first bottle of Dermablend came as an offering from the Amazon Vine program, and I did not have a choice of color. I was offered the 45W, and in these product page pictures, I thought it looked too dark for my complexion. I accepted it anyway, reading the product description and realizing that the product could be mixed with other foundations. I do have some foundations sitting in my drawer that are too light for me, and I thought that I could mix in drops of the 45W. It turned out, the 45W was not too dark, The undertone was just too orange. And it will work fine to darken those too light, too pink foundations.
What I found amazing with that first bottle, and what prompted me to buy a bottle: Just the tiniest drop gave great coverage to my entire face. I used a touch more than that one drop to cover a blemish and a broken blood vessel. Right then and there, I knew I wanted and needed to buy a bottle with a bit of pink undertone in it. I debated going lighter, per what I was seeing on this product page. I decided to stick with what was there staring me in the face in my mirror. I ordered the 45 again, but this time 45C. It is perfect.
I was so excited by how perfect this Dermablend was for me, that I hightailed it outside to where my husband was working in the sun and asked him to look me over. Could he see that I had makeup on? Yes, but only because the uneven colors and the flaws were gone. Does it blend in? Yes, it sure looks good, he said, and he couldn't tell where the makeup started/stopped.
So, bottom line, if undecided, go a touch darker, but be careful when choosing the orange, pink, or neutral undertone. If in doubt, scrutinize this product page, as they have a helpful chart that is based on the color of the veins in your wrists.
I can not detect any fragrance at all, and I like that.
The bottle is glass. The screw-top cap has a dropper built in, and it tightens securely.

1) Read all the instructions prior to use!
2) Use a gentle exfoliater and moisturizer beforehand. This stuff is insanely pigmented and will make all the dead skin show if you skip this step. Let your moisterizer sink in for at least 1 minute, then use toner on a cotton pad to wipe off the excess moisterizer. For days where my skin is more dry, I've found that leaving my moisturizer on actually results in longer wear. I have combo skin and don't need a primer or setting spray with this foundation.
3) If large pores or fine lines are a concern, definitely follow up with translucent powder. I would say any translucent power will do, but it would honestly be best to stick with Dermablend as it's been formulated with their foundations in mind. A light dusting is plenty, you can certainly "bake" but I think dusting looks a bit more natural.
My personal experience...
The swatches on Amazon are deceiving. 0N matched when comparing shades before purchase, however, WAY too light. Get a shade or two darker than what you think you are-- trust me. I'm fair/light depending on the season, and neutral. 30N is my Summer shade, and 10N for the dead of Winter. Since we're in Fall right now, I got both and mixed a drop of each-- perfect. A little pricey, but worth it for the integrity of my skin, and this stuff has a 3-year shelf life.
I'll follow up with some unaltered, well-lit photos when I have chance. :) Thanks for reading.
