Repaired my dead Odyssey battery

I forgot to disconnect my 3 year old Odyssey AGM battery when I stored my car, and the voltage had dropped to 4 volts. According to Odyssey's manual, the battery was beyond repair. I connected this charger and selected Deep Cycle. After about a day or so, the charger was maintaining the battery at over 14 volts. It's been connected for a few weeks now and I disconnected the charger for a day and the battery tested at 12.6 volts. I'll update my review when my car's out of storage.

I had this charger for a month now (haven't removed the protective plastic on the picture yet) . I like the way the charger operates and how it goes through the steps... 1. Analysing battery, 2. Charging, 3. Conditioning... Etc. I find it very useful. Charged my AGM battery to 100% and it seems that everything works as it should. I really like the compact design of the charger. It took me about 8 hours to charge battery from 20% to 100% as newer batteries I understand need slow charging to prevent overheating. All in all I am satisfied. Hope this helps.

El producto llegó antes de lo previsto y en buen estado.
Tuve que utilizarlo ese mismo día ya que mi auto no encendía desde un día anterior por un error mío.
Yo cuento con una batería Optima Amarilla y mi auto tiene la batería en la parte trasera. Por comodidad pensaba quitar la batería y después conectar directamente el Cargador Optima a la batería sin embargo el manual indica que en ese caso se debe utilizar otras conexiones, esto se me hizo raro por lo que busqué en internet y en el sitio de Optima viene una actualización al manual (recomendable descargarlo y leerlo antes de utilizar el Cargador). Siguiendo las instrucciones, decidí mejor dejar la batería en mi coche y conecté el Cargador Optima a las conexiones que tiene mi coche en el cofre. La operación fue muy sencilla, después de un diagnóstico inicial seleccione mi tipo de batería y comenzó el proceso.
Todo iba bien hasta que ocurrió una tormenta eléctrica. Temía que fuera a suceder algún percance en la conexión eléctrica de mi casa ya que es común la perdida de energía en lluvias fuertes. El proceso (llevaba como 5 horas) indicaba una carga de 75%, y en el manual se indica que el proceso consiste en Carga, Acondicionamiento, Mantenimiento, Re-Acondicionamiento y un último Mantenimiento, todo dura, según el manual desde 9 a 36 horas dependiendo del estado inicial de la batería.
Desafortunadamente en el manual no se indica alguna precaución o paso a seguir si es necesario interrumpir el proceso. Me imagino que lo ideal sería dejar al Cargador Optima hacer su trabajo pero en esta situación no era opción para mí. Tuve que tomar el riesgo (unos minutos después se fue la luz) de desconectar el Cargador Optima, afortunadamente no sucedió algún daño y al día siguiente continué con el proceso.
El Cargador Optima me ha parecido muy sólido y con buen material. Hubiera estado muy bien en contar con algún tipo de gancho para colgar del cofre del vehículo por que el pedazo de plástico, que en el manual dice que es gancho o soporte, es inservible. Es recomendable dejar el Cargador Optima en un lugar con buena ventilación ya que se calienta bastante, el proceso de carga se puede ver interrumpido por la temperatura por lo que el aparato se pausa hasta volver a condiciones óptimas de operación.

This charger is very cool... It brought back a battery that I thought was failing. Left it attached in the basement for a couple of weeks, and when I put it back in the camper, it worked like new. The secret to healthy batteries is keeping them charged, and not permitting them to fall much below 12 volts. I'd done that with this battery -- in the camper, the 'shore power' cable had come loose and battery drained to 11 volts. The camper is now winterized and I have the battery back in the basement on this charger, until spring. It has a routine that prevents and repairs over sulphation of the battery. Highly recommended...!

Decent product, customer service is good unless it’s a big issue

You can buy a cheaper charger, but I have 2 Optima Redtops and 2 yellowtops. It makes sense to get one designed for them right? The only complaint I have is that you have to manually select the battery type. It should be automatic. I mean it take a few minutes to analyze the battery. So if you forget to select it won’t charge. Otherwise it’s a good charger.

When I installed the wall mount it has a nice place to attach the wires and what not. But the back of the charger broke and it no longer hooked on. Called customer service. Received a wall mount which was not what I was looking for. After the second call they said I broke it and not covered. I only mounted it twice before it broke off. Talk about cheap or poor design. Anyways now I’ll need to try and get it replace via amazon. Makes me wonder if I should just get another brand.

This is a really nice and compact charger that really fulfills all of the needs you would have from a larger charger, as long as you don't mind waiting a few more hours for the charging to finish compared to the larger ones. I haven't tried a lot of other chargers to compare to, but there was nothing extra I would have wanted from this.

The size is great because it's also an excellent battery tender if you need one, which means you can just leave it in the engine bay with the hood closed. It's also great during cold weather for that reason - you can just pug it in where you park like a block heater and it won't be stolen.

It wasn't 100% perfect though - you'll see a number of concerns in reviews on the LCD quality, and for sure it was variable. When I first used it the digits were all in a state of half on half off, which made it almost impossible to read. I almost returned it but after charging the battery over night the screen was fine again. It got worse again and improved again, and I wonder if the -30C temperature had something to do with that, but it doesn't impact the function. This isn't a complaint, but I was a bit worried by the clicking sound that comes from the ground while connected to the frame while charging, but nothing bad happened, it did it on both vehicles, and it eventually stopped. I still don't know what it was, but it turned out ok so I'm less worried.

There's some ambiguity if this one can also do conditioning (desulphating) abused batteries compared to the larger Optima charger (even from Optima's literature). I really can't say, however both batteries were undercharged for a year and this charger did do a conditioning phase after charging. Both batteries are now functioning as original and I think they would have surely had sulphation, so I'm inclined to believe that it works on this one too.

I used one of these from another brand and it worked wonders so when my Optima saw another -50 I needed to buy my own. What better for my Optima than this! And it worked! Perfectly! Optimas charger selection problems

So far have used this on my snowmobile battery and charger was great, lots of info an ddoes a full analysis prior to charge. Went to put on my tractor today and found out the membrane button to select Automotive/Marine battery does not work, other three selection ones do. Will keep for now as I do have a larger charger for auto batteries and this was bought for powersports ones.
