A bit background. We had a banana shaped first stage toothbrush and baby was interested in using it. We wanted to buy a somewhat more real toothbrush when the baby was a little more than one year old. I did not suspect anything until a few months later (a few days ago) when we tried another method that the pediatrician told us - use a clean wet cloth - and it worked. I thought anyway though the baby would bite it when I put in the baby's mouth the baby wouldn't want to use it to brush. So I decided to use it myself in order not to waste things. What surprised me was the bristles were very hard and thin - the combination made them even SHARPER than an adult's toothbrush bristles. I recalled the few times I forced to use it on the baby and felt regretful not to try it first at least on my face skin or somewhere to test. As I am writing this, the baby is holding and biting the silicon toothbrush we have.
This is my first one-star rating on Amazon after shopping more than 1000 items. You can see how disappointed I was, especially when the brand was what we trusted. I would still recommend many of Dr. Brown's products, but this one, no. Thanks.

Dental hygienist here! I did my research and bought about 10 different toothbrushes for my newly toothed infant. I found this one to be my favorite for the shape, size, and softness of the bristles. The design with the “handles” is great to get my little guy interested and involved in his home care routine. I also LOVE that it stands on its own.
The toothpaste was useless IMO—personal preference was to start with a fluoridated toothpaste based off of ADA recommendations. It was worth it for the package just to try the brush, however.

I figured this was the perfect time to get his 1st toothbrush and toothpaste. Problem is, he's so picky with flavors and textures (gags with anything new and anything sweet). But he loves the flavor of the toothpaste. And like most babies, I thought he would clamp down on the brush. But he enjoyed the feel of the bristles on his new teeth and gums and kept his mouth open so I could brush.
So far, Im a very happy momma!
