Bought on recommendation from other parents but to be honest I expected more anatomy and physiology content. It has a lot about emotions and body changes such as hygiene/spots etc but I didn’t think it was that good at explaining about periods or the physical changes and there was a lot of random cartoon Dr Christians in it for no reason.
(I am a medical person however so maybe just expect more than non medical parents).

Ideal guide - will be referred to lots

Very impressed with the content and style of this book - only thing I thought the author could have gone into a little more detail about was some of the stages of getting periods and what to expect to actually see - the physical side - proper practical stuff. I felt a few things he glossed over a bit sparingly on the detail, but very well done nevertheless and ideal for our family as we have a daughter and son very close in age so they can both get a lot of value out of this book which is aimed at both boys and girls. Ideal for children and teens aged about 10-15.

Good all round book about puberty and related information

Bought for my 10-11 yr old daughter, really happy with the layout and all the different sections it has sparked some healthy conversations about puberty and i like the way it is for both boys and girls. I would just change the fact that there are far too many cartoon character Dr Christians throughout the book but that is just my opinion. Information is good and well written and a bargain price. Would recommend to other children of this age, but parents I would always read through it yourself first so you are ready for the questions.... and there are lots of questions!

Very good book for the most important aspects of changing bodies and issues in puberty.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 4 April 2018Verified Purchase
As all the other books by Dr Christian, this book is really well done, interesting to read and covers all the important bits about the changing bodies of girls and boys. There is some but very littel overlap with his other books. Most importantly he seems to speak the language that his target audience understands.
