That being said, it's an excellent product for someone with the need for strong fastener. My only objection is the product description regarding quantity/price.
Comment to vendor got no response.
The 6 foot strip is both sides (NOT TWO 6 FOOT STRIPS) so you fold in half you have one 3 foot piece of a complete strip. If you need 6feet YOU HAVE TO BUY TWO! I believe this is deceptive. I thought it's was a little overpriced for a 6 foot complete strip (its not) which would be over $2 per foot @$12.00, way over priced for a 3 foot complete strip which now is over $4 a foot!? Other brands state true size of usable strip which winds up to be way cheaper. Good product when installed correctly but ridiculously over priced.
There's no way you could use this just one-sided, so it should be advertised as 3 ft instead of 6.
I didn't actually measure if it's 6 ft, but I can definitely tell I won't have enough if I'm cutting twice the length to use as "top and bottom" pieces.
There's a gel-like substance when you remove the sticker backing and depending on how hard you press down, it seems to grip tighter by how clear it gets. Still -- it seems to fall off if there's not enough strippage (is that a word?) laid down for your item.
I was using these to mount USB ports underneath my desk. I had put 3 1-inch strips along the bottom of the USB port splitter. Naturally, the USB cables had their own tautness so after about an hour or so of installing, the USB port splitter popped off with the sticky adhesive side attached.
I went to Walmart to look for alternatives and noticed that the framed art hangers were about the same length for a couple dollars less -- and they stayed on!
