Initially I had planned to buy a Foodsaver, but the seller let me down, so back to square 1. This handheld vacuum sealer looks more like a toy than a serious kitchen tool. It was really the videos that convinced me to give it a try. I've only had it a short time, and I'm already looking to buy more bags, because I can see using this on a daily basis for keeping produce fresh and for freezing. I often forget about produce and end up having to throw it out, so this will mean less waste and more money saved.

I've already used it to sous vide a steak, but I forgot to take a pic. Even so, these pics of broccoli (cooked), mushrooms, pecans, and tomatoes show how tight the vacuum sealing is. They look positively shrink-wrapped, don'tcha think?

Cons: The only shortcoming I've found is that you can't use it for anything wet, because the vacuum pump will suck up the liquid. For wet stuff, just dunk the bag into a container of water up to the zipper lock, which squeezes out the air, and then zip. I also wish the kit came with some sandwich-sized bags.

Pros: Less than half the cost of a "traditional" vacuum sealer, reusable bags, compact size, rechargable, quiet operation, extremely easy to use. You don't even have to hold on to it while it's vacuuming!

I'm changing my review again because I found the correct cord and it has a longer male end which actually does allow the unit to be recharged. It was my error. I apologize for my previous complaint.

Ive changed my opinion. I cant recharge it because the insides has shifted just enough so the charger cant be inserted far enough to recharge. I will hope to receive a replacement. Until then i cannot recommend this product as i see from other posts it is a common problem with this unit.

I have a little problem sealing the bags before removing the air but that is because I have very bad arthritis. I found that the wooden handle on my spatulas does a fine job of helping. I'm mostly using the bags for seasonal things like fresh strawberries (that I freeze on cookie sheets first), nuts, whole grains, anything that can become rancid quickly, and leftovers. The suction is not as strong as my bigger machine but it is more than adequate for the small daily jobs. And it is easier to store in the kitchen so my big machine can stay in the pantry until I have bigger jobs to do.

I have ordered 2 sets of these. The first came with no directions and the loose parts were just tossed in the box. It wasnt rocket science to figure it out. The second one came this week. It was nicely packaged with the bags in a protective plastic bag and the parts were neatly corralled in a nice little bag, along with the instructions this time. I think the first one must have either been a return/damaged unit, as the charger didnt quite fit right and the suction cup was loose fitting. It still did a great job of vacuum sealing all the bags except one. The second unit charges fine and the suction cup fits snuggly. All in all, I will order this again. For me, it is fine to get the full set each time. I like the convenience of having one in the kitchen and one in the rv

The product has a problem with the charging port. The 1st one I ordered I was only able to charge once. The second time the port would no longer accept the input. I returned it and was very pleased with the quick replacement. I used the product for2 or 3 months and liked the way it worked. Very happy. Then on the 5th or 6th charge, the port would not accept the input again. Understand that I was specifically gentle and careful trying to insert it. It disappeared inside the unit body. Gone. I tried to reach the company thru Amazon and was told 90 day guarantee was expired. No further communications with the company or Amazon was acknowledged Very disappointing. So While I liked the performance of the product, I am not prepared to buy one every 3 months. Shame on both companies. John A

Bags work great until electric pump doesn't

I ordered these bags two weeks ago and already the electric vacuum pump has completely stopped working. In the time I've had these bags I've used them 4 times for sous vide cooking. The first 3 times the bags worked great, the pump sucked out all the air and everything I cooked came out great. A little tricky to get the pump to begin vacuum sealing, but after adjusting its position a few times it would always end up working.

But yesterday the electric pump decided to die rendering the bags no more useful than normal ziplock bags that I paid more for. Tried charging it all night and it's still useless and doesn't function anymore. Not sure what could have caused it to give out so quick, I have only been cooking with dry rubs/seasoning. I'd recommend if your going to get a bag set like this rather than an actual vacuum sealer to stick with a product that uses a hand pump over an electric one. As soon as the pump dies your just left with a bunch of ziplock bags.

Revised: I received this sealer July 7, 2020. It is now November 17, 2020 and I wish I could say "it sucks" because it doesn't. Fortunately I kept my old hand pump as a backup. If you want a pump that lasts 4 months, this is your deal. Otherwise, NO. The ONE star is just for the bags, they're great.

The part where you put the plug in adaptor into the device broke within minutes of use---charged, removed charger, and the piece where it attaches disappeared somewhere into the device. The device failed to remove any air besides. Would ask for a replacement, but, it didn't work before the piece broke off, so what's the point?

Impossible to charge

The suction unit is impossible to charge as the outside blue case is too thick and the usb charging port is too far inside for a cable to stay connected to it.
The suction unit was the only reason I bought this item and it is useless once it needs charging.
