The only reason I gave it four stars, is because I didn’t feel it was necessary to put animals on there that there aren’t really noises for… Such as the caterpillar. It just plays music, which I don’t see much of a point to.

1) When you press the button, you'll hear both the name of the creature and its sound.
2) There are many creatures featured.
3) The illustrations are large, colorful and beautiful.
Cons:
1) It's not a board book, as advertised; it's a hardcover with thin paper pages.
2) The buttons are small to see and difficult for kids to press.
3) The butterfly, rabbit, caterpillar, fish and turtle sounds are musical and not accurate to real life.

This book has the great Eric Carle book illustrations and the animal sounds are wonderful -- my LO loves them.
However, there are a few downsides that led to my 3-star rating:
1) While nice quality, the pages are thin so I would not really recommend this for a younger child. Not only am I afraid of paper cuts for my LO, I am also afraid that the pages will tear soon given how rough my LO is with books (even during a "chill" story time).
2) I am not usually one to complain about getting too much of something but I feel like the number of buttons might actually be too overwhelming. The buttons (and corresponding animal images) are fairly small to make them all fit so it can be difficult to find and/or press them (especially for my LO). I also find this a bit annoying at times as I will be reading the book and there are so many buttons that, especially in the middle of the book, you may have to stop and search for the correct button which can interrupt the flow of reading. I know this seems really minor but my LO is very active and small interruptions in story time can lose LO's attention.
TLDR: Nice book with great illustrations and engaging sounds, if you can follow the buttons and avoid paper cuts and/or potential page damage.

However, here is something to keep in mind if you're also buying this for a younger child: the buttons are VERY hard to push. I can manage to push them myself, of course, but my daughter gets very frustrated when she tries. She has the dexterity to press them, no problem, it just requires a LOT of pressure/force to get them to work. She sits there and presses - and grunts! - until her little finger turns red, but only can get a few to work. Then she gives up and moves on to something else. I know this is for ages 3 and up, but it seems like it would be easy enough to make the buttons a little easier to press, so younger kids can use them!
So a fun book for toddlers, but make sure they have the strength to use it easily!
