Exfoliation too harsh on skin

I don’t know if I am the only person who experienced this but I found scratches all over my body after using this soap bar. I found at least 7-8 scratches on my back, underpits and torso area

I've purchased Ethique's body wash bars twice before this third purchase. I can only say good things about these bars that last for a long time, smell really well, haven't left my sensitive skin dry, and--most importantly for me--are sustainable and vegan. However, this most recent purchase came in the Amazon package that wasn't recyclable and had stickers on the bars. This really irked me considering he reason why I even buy from Ethique is because I love the quality of the products (at least the one's I've used) and because they are very sustainable in their products and their packaging.
I could very well look for any other vegan body wash that comes in a plastic tube but I buy from Ethique so I don't have to deal with that. Ideally, there would be Ethique products that were locally sold in US markets (maybe even produced here) so I do understand that it's not going to be perfectly sustainable but at the very least I could compromise with the recyclable packaging that I had received in my prior purchases and without the stickers on the bars.
I would give this a lower rating if it weren't for the fact that the product really is just that good for me and I do ultimately really like Ethique but I hope that they manage to return to making the packaging fit the values of the product their selling or even make it more sustainable than before if possible. I should note that this is likely more of an issue with Pharmapacks than it is with Ethique, however.

Bar larger than holder

I purchased this product because I want to get away from plastics as much as possible and use sustainable, cruelty free products. I ordered their soap bar holder and discovered that the bar was much longer than the soap holder so I could not close the cover. Not a deal breaker but this is kind of an oversight in their design/production.

I got the lavender and mint soap bar. It had a nice lather, without being too bubbly, and was scented but not overly fragranced. It was very gentle on my skin and I had no sensitivities to it. I think this is a great product so far and would like to try their other body care items.

Note, it came in a bubble mailer and like another reviewer said, there were stickers on the packaging. I would like to see Amazon use better packaging for their items that are more eco friendly otherwise this defeats the purpose of buying from a 'waste free' company like Ethique. However, if you buy multiple items or stock up in one go, you might be able to offset the amount of plastic in shipping. Not totally sure of this but I'm interested to see how others' experience turns out.

Will purchase again. I hope to see them in US stores soon.

This is UN-scented and exfoliating. Don't know what the other people expected when they bought it as they must've not read the description. It's easy on the skin and lathers up extremely well. A little goes a long way!! Recommend.

This is a good product. Doesn't dry out my skin like other soaps. Good smell while in the shower, but the smell doesn't linger on skin. My biggest issue is that it doesn't fit in the Ethique In-shower container that I bought (for $15! So expensive!). Why wouldn't they make it the same size as the shampoo bars? I would prefer it fit in the container so it doesn't wear away so fast, then have a larger bar. Now it looks sloppy in my shower, with the top hanging askew. :( It does leave some oily soap scum in my shower too-which is a pain to clean. Other than those complaints-good product.

I LOVE this soap! It's amazing. I will never go back to my previous soap. Just make sure you don't run it under the water as it essentially "uses" the soap and it won't last long. I also love the pumice in it because it exfoliates as I use it. The scent is light but smells so good! Love love love!
