I loved reading this book. There is adventure, intrigue, and/or romance on every page. This continues the story of Ruggiero, the Saracen Knight, and Bradamante, niece to Charlemagne and a pretty kick-ass warrior in her own right. But there is so much more than their story, too much to include in a short review. And all the story-lines are interesting. There are many point of view characters, but I never minded moving from one to another because they are all so compelling.
The story is truly epic and very well written. Often the second book in a trilogy is the mushy middle of the story where not much happens and it sets things up for the dazzling finale in the third book. But his second book is as good as, if not better than, the first. I'd actually want to read it again right now, if my to-be-read pile weren't towering to the ceiling.
Let's hope the next book in the series will be coming soon. I really can't wait for it.
