3.0 out of 5 starsPros: Good variety of songs. Cons: Poor arrangements.

This book has a nice variety of songs that I was excited to find in an easy piano book. However, in the process of simplifying the songs they lost some of the familiarity. Songs you could typically hum or sing along to have been transposed into keys that make that impossible. I enjoy having the book because it gives my piano students more song options, but I have yet to be truly satisfied with any of the arrangements.

I purchased this for one of my Piano students and now after she shared it with other students I'll have to get several more copies. This is the best Disney book I've ever found for level 1 students. Some of the songs are a little more difficult however the challenge will be there for them as they progress. This book contains more songs that my students are familiar with than any other book so far. They love the variety and I'm all for anything that keeps them excited about practicing after their basic lesson is accomplished.
1.0 out of 5 starsGood selection and format, but doesn't work on Kindle for iPhone

This is a book I want, for 65yo pianist me to know some current Disney songs (more recent than Whistle While You Work, for example). The selection seems good, the scoring and arrangements are very simple but include chords so I can use them as lead sheets. If I could read them, I'd be happy. But PROBLEM: The display format is wrong. On Kindle for iPhone (my main need), pages don't advance cleanly and a whole page contains a compressed preview image of that page, which I double-click to see that page but then can't advance to the next. This is not how iPhone Kindle works for other books, and is especially bad for sheet music when you need to be playing to the music in realtime. So I've returned the thing, and will hopefully get a credit for the purchase - I've owned it for about a half hour :) As a hint, download the sample to your device, it may work for you. The same problems had appeared in the sample, but I assumed (oops) that they were just a one-time glitch. AMAZON: Please let me know if this gets fixed, I'd love to buy it.
I am new to playing the keyboard. I bought this as my first Disney songbook. I found the book to be easy to read with large format pages. Some of my favorite Disney songs are in this book. I don't know how to play yet, am just learning to recognize the notes, but it was fun to play the melodies (as best I could). I would recommend this as a good songbook for beginner musicians like myself. The scores looks easy enough that I think I could play the songs once I get more proficient. Very happy with this purchase.
This book was everything I hoped for! I've been played piano since I was a kid but I was self taught and never learned to read sheet music well. I've been recently learning how to read sheet music and sightread and this book was very helpful! It helped me stay motivated with arrangements of songs that are very true to the originals. They are relatively easy and catchy.
