Not to brag or anything, but this morning I got to use the bathroom, throw in some laundry, AND get a glass of water with baby bouncing away. Then, she fell asleep in it and I was able to put her down for a nap without a fuss. I'm feeling a little better about returning back to work on Monday (from home becuase of covid) with this thing. I was starting to panic.
Some details I think will help someone:
1.) Baby was about 24.5 inches long when we first put her in it. In the video, she's 25, maybe 25.5 inches. It took a few tries to find the right pillow/ box to give her a boost, sometimes it needs a little adjustment when she kicks it to the side. I do put a little folded up flannel swaddle behind her in the seat in the back. Without it, if she leans back and she's reaching for the toys, she tends to get one arm wedged between her body and the fabric seat.
2.) Keep at it. When you first put them in, they might only last 5 minutes. They probably won't bounce. The second time, I thought it was a bust since she looked up at the elephant and freaked out. She LOVES it now, just took a few short tries.
3.) The seat is a bit of a pain to put together. Yes, I'm sure I could take it off to wash it. I pray I never have to. For those people who are having trouble with it spinning or rotating, check the back part (has a raise for head) where you clicked on the fabric to the ring/base. Ours wasn't spinning and the issue was a little fabric was overhanging the edge. It took some effort from my husband on that part as I just couldn't get the fabric where it needed to be, but once he got it off the edge, the wheels popped in and it spun freely.
4.) Yes, the lion is a bit stiff. No, she can't chew on the red frog. Doesn't seem to bother her. I move the lion sometimes. If it loosens up, great. If not, oh well.
Overall, I picked this over other brands/styles because it seemed safer than others, had cute music & toys, and was something our daughter could grow into. I appreciate that I can put her in this thing for some engagement when I can't give her 1-1 time. She and I are much happier with this than constantly walking laps in the livingroom or plopping her flat on a floor mat.
If you've got a baby that always wants to be vertical (don't sit me down, mom/dad!) give them your hard earned money and invest in you & your baby's sanity - get this thing. I'm so glad we did.
