We bought two of these chairs, they are probably the best computer desk chairs I've owned. The height ranges from roughly the same as my dining room chairs and go up as high as being able to work at our stand up desk. The arms easily flip up and down and don't feel flimsy. The chairs feel solid overall and I am impressed with the quality and back support.
I purchased this for my at home office, and love it. My only complaints are that when assembling it, there is one screw for the right side arm rest that refuses to screw into the chair properly (thankfully there are multiple screws holding each arm rest on). I saw that comment on the same chair in another colour, so I didn't get that colour, because I thought that maybe they were made on different lines, but I was wrong.
The other complaint is that the foot rest screw in knob to hold it onto the post is really hard to access to get it truly tight. Once you've tightened it most of the way, you're kinda having to squeeze your hand in between other support beams to try to hold the knob, so I can never get it totally tight, and it slides down the post over time. I think next time I have to fix it again, I'm going to stick a piece of something gritty inside it, to give it more grip against the post.
Other than that, it was in my price range, I love that the arm rests can be up or down depending on my mood, and the height is perfect for my counter-height desk. I also really like that the foot rest has a flatter side to it, verses some of the other chairs that are just a round bar wrapped in a circle; it's nicer on your feet if you're not wearing shoes.
If you're a heavier person, the padding on the seat cushion might not last super long for you. I'm pretty light, and I'm already noticing spots where it has compressed. But considering I went from a hard wooden stool to this, it's still an upgrade, even with the reduced padding hahaha!
Received the chair in good order. When assembling, I took out all the pieces and organized my area. The instructions are simple and one pager that is easy to follow. I found working on a high table to construct was very helpful. Two of the screws that I was tightening were so hard to turn, and not sure why but had to put in some really good elbow grease to get them in. I found the footrest a little clumsy as it tightens with just a hand knob and tends to slide down with a little pressure from your foot resting on it or a slight push of pressure when sitting. The seat is comfortable. I actually bought an extra cushion from Amazon for my old chair and thought to use it, but no need as the seat is comfortable. The back has good support from the mesh and is curved nicely for your back. The chair does not recline which is totally fine. I picked up the chair when it was on sale and is well built. I like that the arm rests can be lifted or brought down. The blue color is very trendy and good mesh quality. I can also use the chair on my high table or low table depending on the change that I need.
Bad: First- 2 of the screws don't go into the chair seat properly. Had to back off because the torque required to drive the screw in would completely destroy the thread of the hole. Not impressed. Second - the seat cushion is underwhelming, as it turns out I have a memory foam cushion anyway but that I HAVE to use it bothers me. Not sure if I will keep the chair. Also, when I just receive a product and already have issues I tend to fear that I may go from bad to worse. Good: The foldable arms are a very good feature! I wouldn't buy another drafting chair without the option of foldable arms. If you want to get in close to the desk arms may get in the way, so these lift, allowing me to reposition myself and get in closer to the desk, which for some tasks is needed. Ergonomically having padded armrests is a very good option for resting the forearms and avoiding repetitive strain injuries (I used to be a massage therapist and my specialty was carpal tunnel syndrome). Also, it is better to have arms when you get into a drafting chair. Trying to get into a high chair that rolls without arms is risky. On a bad day if you are distracted or have taken meds (pain or whatever ails you) that may impair coordination getting into a high rolling chair with no arms to help you stabilize is just asking for it! Frankly if the screws weren't an issue and the seat padding wasn't so meh I would have given the product 4 stars. But I am only giving it 2 for now. Depending on the response I get about the screws and how this chair holds up over time, say 3 to 6 months I may reconsider my rating.
EDITED TO ADD: Dang! I really wanted to love this chair. Unfortunately after just 2 months it squeaks like CRAZY and it's driving me absolutely mental. Not to mention the foot rest sliding down immediately after positioning myself on the chair. Pain in the butt. The seat fabric also marks incredibly easy. Would NOT buy again.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Lovely looking office chair - clear instructions - but...the foot rest will not stay up. It keeps sliding down the post, no matter how hard I turn the dial. Other than this, it is a great chair and I put it together myself, which is a feat in itself. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow. Took me about a half hour. This chair is perfect for use at my standing desk when I need a sit down break.
Shopping for a chair that is higher than usual was hard. I decided to take that one to work from home and I'm overall satisfied. For that price, you get what you paid for. The assembly was easy but I stripped two screws, even after trying to install them proprely over and over. The chair is comfy, and looks really nice in my office. The lombar support is great.
Chair was easy to assemble and the height is perfect. After using this chair for the past week or so, the quality is starting to show. The chair makes noises when sitting on it and slightest movements, clicking and other odd noises are happening. It is wobbly when sitting on it as it feels loose as if the seat will fall off the pole. Does not seem to have the strength when extended high. The seat cushion does not have particularly good padding. After about 1 hour, my behind feels like I have been sitting on a cement block.
Exceptional comfort of any chair means so much less when there is such a boring disappointing lackluster aesthetic in real life. Especially after seeing soft airbrushed well lit and cropped photos. Clunkier and heavier looking silhouette in real life and ugly looking tacky cheap office mesh from top to bottom. Same dark ugly shade of grey. This chair is easily beat im sure.
The chair, design and comfort is very nice. It was possible to install it on my own but it was difficult. 1x screw is not going all the way in luckily it is under the seat so you can't tell. The feet rest is always sliding down and doesn't stay at the level where you adjusted it to. Also unfortunately, the chair broke after one week :-( I used it maybe 4x times and after that the lever broke. I have a high desk and therefore I can not use it anymore as the chair is not going up.
