This book is awesome. It is much more dense than I thought it would be, and includes a ton of stories that take place well before the game. It is also filled with amazing looking art. My only gripe is that they gave such a nice book a soft cover, instead of a hard one.

As a warning, if you do not read Japanese, be warned that the reading is almost entirely Japanese, and you should only purchase this book for the art.

I need to learn Japanese... Other than the fact that this book is in Japanese, it is wonderful. The art is the reason I bought this, and I wasn't disappointed. I love Nier so much, if you are a fan with a bit of cash, or you speak Japanese, you should get this. You can find the translation online to help you understand the guide and story extras at the end. In short, this is a great book.
