This time I did my research. I have short to medium-short hair, and I want something with strong hold and a little bit of shine. For my purposes, Wild Shake is absolutely perfect. I can put a tiny dab on my middle and index fingers and in a matter of seconds have my hair set for an entire day, wind be damned. With Air Rise and Multi Form, my hair just looked sort of wet—neither had enough hold to sweep my hair up, and I don't have long enough hair for the tousled look. The Matte Type wax holds well but tended to make my hair stiff to the point of crunchy. It was also gunkier and more of a pain to wash out than Wild Shake and isn't paraben-free like the Moving Rubber series. It's a solid option, but it feels unmistakably like Mark I hair tech; Moving Rubber is the Mark II model with laser cannon and relativity engine.
Bottom line: if you have short, fine hair that tends to just lie there in defiance of your wishes (and your styling product), Wild Shake will change your life.
Works fantastic with thin hair follicles to not make it seem clumpy or thinner. Adds a volumizing and textured feel without leaving a white residue even if you bump it during the day. If you use enough (I'm sparing with it because my hair is thin and light) it will hold its form throughout the day. After trying several different brands available in the US and ultimately giving them away, I've found nothing that beats this was. They better style my hair in my casket with this stuff. An added plus is that it smells good in my opinion.
Gave the best texture and hold for my hair compared to the other Gatsby products I've tried. Previously I used the Loose Shuffle, Air Rise, and Grunge Mat. Loose Shuffle was my previous favorite for holding my spikes on the top and back of my head, Air Rise was my favorite for my sides as it gave a nice teased look, and Grunge Mat was nice for thinning and defining hair bundles even more for certain styles. Aside from Grunge Mat, Wild Shake managed to replace both of the other products I've been using at the same time. It doesn't quite give the same texture as Air Rise on my sides, but still gave the volume I wanted, and I switched to curling the ends on my sides out anyways for a different look so the change in texture wasn't a problem for me.
The only downside to Wild Shake is the smell! It doesn't smell as nice as any of the other products I mentioned earlier, and has a strong sort of latex or silicone rubber smell to it. My favorite part of all of the Gatsby products is the pleasant smell, but this one was a bit lacking in that respect. It did have a bit of a green apple smell to it like Air Rise, but it was overpowered by that rubbery smell.
